Which would you choose?

We are buying APs this year so we are planning on doubling our WDW visits. We have only stayed at ASMo for our past trips and will be staying there again for our trip in October. Since we won't have to spend any money for passes on our two visits in 2004 we thought we would spend a little more than we usually do on our resort.

We know that we want to stay at CBR since we have heard so many good things about it but we can't decide where to stay for the second trip in 2004. We will need to rely on our AP resort discounts because we won't be able to afford any of the pricier resorts without them. I'm leaning towards AKL because it seems to have some really good AP discounts, but I don't know if our son - who will be three then - will enjoy it as much as ASMo and CBR. We would love to stay at the Grand Floridian but it just seems way to expensive. We have thought about resort hopping but we really like to make our resort room as "homey" as possible so we don't want to have to pack and unpack more than once.

Any other suggestions for where we should stay? We would like to keep our resort budget in the $120-160 a night range.

Why not split the stay, and stay at AKL 1st and then go to CBR... best of both worlds. They will move your luggage for you, too!

AKL is the best deluxe for the $$. Will your three year old like it? Does he like the animals at the zoo? The pool is also great. My 5 year old daughter loved the slide...much smaller than the slide at the Poly. Lots of neat stuff to do throughout the resort.

We've never stayed at CBR so I can't compare the two. If you decide to split your stay, try packing for the days of your trip instead of for people...seperate suitcases for AKL and seperate for CBR. This way you won't have as much to unpack and repack.

Have fun!

I think a 3 year old is going to be happy no matter what, so I wouldn't let that be your deciding factor. We almost always stay at POR and really enjoy it -- it's a moderate so you should come in good price wise. Another one to consider is Wilderness Lodge. I think those AP rates can be pretty good, too. I can't imagine, however, that you would be disappointed with AKL.

I'm not very helpful am I?

Since you are staying at CBR for your first 2004 trip I would try AKL or the WL for your second trip. We've stayed at the WL and loved it. We've visited the AKL and it is gorgeous also. I will say that from what friends who have stayed at AKL have told me that if you do choose there make sure you get the savannah view. I don't think the view you choose at the WL makes a HUGE difference but IMO it does at AKL. It's pricier but worth it from what I am told.

Animal Kingdom Lodge!!!!! It's our new favorite and I don't think we will ever stay anywhere else!!

I think you should stick with AS resorts and make 3 trips onstead of 2 ! :earseek: :earseek: :earseek:

it's our favorite moderate. It's a lovely resort and I like the pool much better than CBR's. Great onsite full-service restaurant, Maya Grille! I think you'll thoroughly enjoy it. Check these boards - there's a lot of buzz lately about Cornado.
