Which would you choose?

Well it looks like my annual April WDW trip needs to be canceled. So, I am thinking of rescheduling for either Feb. (President's week) or In July for 14 days.

I know the weather will be better in Feb. Not so hot. Is it swimming weather?

I have never been to WDW for longer than a week, so 14 days even if it is July sounds tempting too. How do you all deal with the heat? I thought about sleeping in most days, then hanging by the pool, have early dinners and then head into the parks after 6pm or 7pm. Perhaps get annual passes so that we can go in every night for a bit. We could always use the passes again in April of the following year.

I like the idea of having a low key vacation with lots of hanging around. I thought about visiting the spa too.

I have been in July before and it was HOT!!!!! That was before DVC days though. Before the days of enjoying the resort.

So what would you do?

February - no question!

We were there for President's week in '06 and the crowds were extremely manageable. It was so much better than I had anticipated. The temps were warm enough to swim every day yet the humidity was still very low.

I wouldn't go in July if you paid me. We went in August one year and it was awful.

That's my $.02. Have a great time, whenever you go.

I managed 3 July days this summer, using a similiar plan as above, and loved it!
I once went in Feb, and due to many cooler days, I have no reason to want another Feb trip.
I expect it to be hot in Fla, so I get disapointed if it does not reach upper 70's. I think there's more rain in July, and with possible really high heat, that may get too old for 14 days, though. It's a tough call.

All but one of our trips has been during the summer. Our plan is very close to the plan you outline above, though we tend to get to the parks late afternoon before the early dinner.

Your plan for AP usage is also why we like AP's. We can use them for multiple trips and we don't feel like we've "wasted" a day ticket if we are only in the parks for a couple of hours for several days.

We live in a place with high summer heat and humidity, so summer in Orlando has never been that traumatic for us. For others, I could definitely see where it would be quite a shock.

I'd probably lean towards February due to the weather but you will also face shorter park hours and more refurbishments of attractions and pools at that time of the year.

I would do february, I was there the wednesday before presidents day, till the thursday after last year. The wed, thurs and friday were great as far as crowds, little chilly at night. However saturday before presidents day you can see the crowd difference, many more people. I used to go in the summer, but February is so much better, even thought there can be large crowds around presidents day and or that week, they are much more bearable when you dont have to deal with the extreme heat and humidity.

Another vote for Feb. We will be making our second Presidents week trip this year, and while the weather can be cool it is nice to walk around the parks and not sweat to death. We did have a few days last time that were warm enough for swimming, but coming from the north east in Feb. everyday felt warm enough for swimming.:thumbsup2

Definitely February! Low crowds, weather okay usually, etc. etc. It's why we are going late January next year!:cool1:
