I've been to WDW 21 times, 14 with my wife, so we've dined at many of the popular places throughout the property, but there are still plenty we haven't been to yet. We try to hit at least one nice place each trip. So here's the question - which of the following would you pick and why? Some background info - I don't eat red meat - just chicken, fish and vegetarian. My wife also doesn't do red meat and is also allergic to all seafood. We mostly eat vegetarian at home with the occasional chicken meal. My DD is a typical 7 yo (will be 8 when we go) and will be happy with a dish of plain pasta or a piece of baked or roasted chicken. Here are some places I'm considering and haven't been to yet. What do you think? I've looked at the menus online and they all have stuff we like.

Brown Derby
Artist Point
California Grille
Jiko

Thanks,
Steve

We have been to all but Jiko and everyone had enjoyed their meals equally at the other 3. First Calif. Grill is great when you time your dinner with the fireworks at the MK. Its a great way to see the fireworks, which your child should enjoy, and they pipe in the music so you get the full effect. Never had a bad meal there and the service is good.
Artist Point i'm partial to b/c we got married at WL and had reception at AP. As well never a bad meal, good service and if you can request a table by the window great views of the waterfall.
Brown Derby was good. Had good desserts. Our meal was fine. Wasn't overly impressed or disappointed.
Hope this helps, its just my opinion.

By the way have heard that Jiko is very good. I've been inside checking it out and it seems very nice.

Hi there, I can only help you with the Brown Derby. We ate there last summer. It was good, not great, but good. We both had the roasted chicken and for dessert the grapefruit cake. I wouldn't write home about this place. I think it is a good place to go for a lunch, but not a special dinner kind of place. Hope this helps.
PS. I have heard nothing but great things about Calif. Grill & jiko

I've dined at all, but from a "meat & fish-asaurus" viewpoint. (We tend to do alot of chicken at home, so vacations are for splurging ;) ).

JMHO, I'm thinking CA Grille might be your best bet. They seem to be more vegetarian-friendly, and if you recognize the "other white meat" - their pork tenderloin is sublime!

Also love Artist Pointe and Jiko - quieter, lower-key atmostphere than CA Grille...and I'm a sucker for theming/exploring the various resorts ;). We've had super experiences with salmon/fish/red meat at both.

(I still have fond memories of Jiko even though that was THE night I discovered I had gallstones. Sorry...too much info! LOL)

Not to knock Brown Derby, I've enjoyed meals there, but the atmosphere was a bit "busy" (naturally) in comparison to resort restaurants.

Jiko offers some great entrees for you. They have an excellent monkfish, and a couscous based vegetarian dish.

The chef there is very interested in making guests happy, and will creativly alter the menu for you.
