Which would you cancel: Sci Fi or the Plaza?

I had originally planned on booking the DxDDP for our upcoming trip, but I really believe now that it is going to be entirely too much food.

I had nearly all TS booked with that, so now I'll need to cancel some so I can use our CS credits on the basic DDP. I am choosing b/w Sci Fi or the Plaza and I just can't decide.

On one hand I think DH would really enjoy Sci Fi and there are no good CS places at HS (at least IMO), but on the other hand I have always wanted to try the Plaza (and their strawberry chicken salad!). There are several decent CS places at MK though, so maybe I should just cancel that one.

What would you do?

Si Fi was always a must do for us every year but since they changed the menu. We haven't been back. This was for dinner and it's just my opinion.

That is a tough one, but if it was me, I'd cancel the Plaza, just for the very reason you mentioned - lots of good CS in the MK, really poor choices at DHS.

I have never eaten at Sci-Fi, but the Plaza was wonderful when we ate there. We try to go every trip.

I have never been to Sci Fi and I have no wish to. DH and I love the Plaza. It is a must do on our WDW vacations. The Plaza says 'Main Street' to me. That said, the prices at the Plaza are such that if I were on the regular DDP, I would pay out of pocket, but I would definitely eat there.

Winterman makes a good point - you could keep your Plaza ADRs and just pay OOP there.

I will be paying OOP for this meal (whichever one we choose), but my problem is I need to cancel a TS so I can use up the CS credits we'll get with the DDP.

Can you use the CS credits on a breakfast instead?

This is a tough one. The Plaza is soooo good and Sci-Fi is so unique. I would hate to cancel either one but if I was to base it strictly on the food I would say that The Plaza is better. Oh, I'm no help at all.......good luck with your decision!

Ok - here's what I've decided . . . we're going to cancel the DDP.

I don't want to have to cancel meals that we WANT to do just so we can use up CS credits. On the other hand, I don't want to do the DxDDP because I know we won't get our money out of it. It would be a waste for us.

Dh is not one to eat dessert right after a meal. He prefers to let his food digest and eat something sweet a short while later, so with him not getting dessert and us having to forego restaurants that we really want to try, the DDP just doesn't seem worth it anymore.

So, now we can do the Plaza and Sci Fi! Woohoo!!

I actually ran the numbers using one of the great spreadsheets another poster created and it looks like it may even be more cost effective for us to cancel the DDP anyway! Win-win!

Cancel Sci-Fi. We love the Plaza and it is a must-do for us every trip. We did Sci-Fi for the kids when they were little and are glad we don't have to go back.

Plaza. SciFi is great. The only place in MGM worth eating.
