I need to cancel either Sci-Fi Drive In or LTT?

I've never been to either restaurant. Both are dinner ADR's.

Sci-Fi would be our arrival day, we get in at noon. Part of me thinks I should cancel this one b/c is it really worth 1 TS on the dining plan? Looking at the menu, we'd probably just get burgers. So, should I cancel and just use a CS instead at DHS which I'm not exactly thrilled about either?

LTT is an early dinner the night of MNSSHP. Never eaten here and not too thrilled about the menu. However, I thought it would be neat to start out the evening here and experience it. We could always just do a quick meal at Cosmic Rays which I love their rib / chicken platter.

What do you think? I'm driving myself crazy trying to decide!

Personally, I would keep the LTT dinner ... as of January (I think it is), the dinner at LTT will no longer be a character meal!! This is probably your last chance to experience it ... plus, I'm assuming by early you mean 4pm to 5pm, which puts you into the MK right at the time when MNSSHP guests can enter but you'll be done your dinner in time for regular Wishes and the start of MNSSHP. (We did Sci-Fi for lunch on the dining plan, was it worth the 1 TS ... probably not, but we did enjoy the atmosphere.)

Are you doing any other character meals?

I would cancel SciFi as well - the food is nothing special - your mainly there for the theming.

Do you want the theming? or the character interaction w/ better food?

hands down I would cancel Sci-Fi. We ate there is January. There was 6 of us and not one of us had a decent meal.

I ordered a cheeseburger and they even screwed that up! I was eating it (in the dark no less) and I kept thinking the texture seemed odd.... after a couple of bites around the edge something was dripping down my arm
...blood.. I always ask for my burgers medium well. When the waitress came out and I showed it to her she said "it should have never been sent out like this"... thank god I didn't get sick..

anyway..since by the time it was squared away they asked what else I would like so I said how about a kids pizza (they said it would be a very quick thing, which it was) mainly because I think they went out back and got some cardboard to put some sauce & cheese on.

When we got the bill they charged me for the cheeseburger...which of course was alot more $ than the pizza. I didn't want to cause any problems and make a big deal out of it because i was traveling w/ my sister and her kids/hubby and I had literally "just arrived" then.. flew into mco, went to Hollywood studios to meet up with them and walk into sci-fi for our ressies.

fyi, They also wouldn't let us order milkshakes as our drink, we could only get them as dessert

I'd also cancel Sci-Fi before LTT. The food is good at LTT, but if it's not up your alley then there is no sense in spending about $30/person.

No question SiFi get rid of it. Then menu has changed and not for the better. My opinion!

I have not eaten at LTT but we thought Sci-Fi was really good. We had burgers, onion rings, and milkshakes and it was all good. My DD4 and DS2 still talk about eating in the car and watching the cartoons. They loved it. They want to do it on our next trip!

If you plan to hit DHS shortly upon arrival then a nice AC break for dinner might be a really good idea.

With the party ticket you can usually enter the park at 4pm, so if you're having dinner then you're giving up some pre party park time. Sounds like you really want that Cosmic Ray's meal anyway, so go for it.

I would definately cancel Sci Fi and keep LTT. We really didn't like the food at Sci-Fi and LTT was fantastic!!!

Good point! I think I'm going to keep LTT based on the responses here and the fact that the characters are going away. Yes, our ADR is at 5:30 so we hope to be finished by the time the party starts.

I'd rather have better food over theming hands down. DD would love the character interaction, of course! We are doing Princess Storybook bkfst & 1900 Park Fare bkfst for other character meals.

Free dining! :thumbsup2

Thanks for the vote!

Hmmm. I wonder if DD would get a kick out of it. I guess we could still eat at Sci-Fi and pay OOP. Decisions, decisions...........

I would definately cancel Sci Fi! The food there was just gross! :scared1:
I was so sick after eating the shrimp there as well as many Disers I have run across on these boards! :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:
I would'nt even eat there if it was free.......

I would cancel LTT because I dont like the food options

I'll add another vote to keep LTT but for a different reason. You're going to MK anyway, why waste the travel time? Plus as others have mentioned, the characters are leaving LTT so do it while you can. BTW, we've never dined at LTT, I tried to get a ressie for this year but couldn't get in.

We do love the Sci-Fi. Ate there the last 2 trips and will again in November. Always have a great time and the food is yummy.

I think it comes down to where you'll be. If you plan to get there at noon, are you going to hit MGM first and then jump to MK on your first day in WDW? Would it be easier on your family if you attempted to just do one park on your first day there?

I don't care for LTT at all, and have always been happy with Sci Fi, but I can't imagine trying to travel and do 2 parks and a special event on my first day at the World... so I'd cancel Sci Fi and stick with MK that day.

My group , The Big Guys, thought the roast beef at LTT was the best we'd ever had. The pork was very good also. We loved the sides, but many don't like Stouffer's mac 'n cheese apparently. LTT was our overall favorite meal of the trip.
