Which week in November?

I'm agonizing over which week to go, either the week of Nov 14 (arriving maybe Friday night the 12th to squeeze an extra day in) or arriving Thanksgiving Day and spending the whole next week. We did the Thanksgiving Day trip last in 2000, avoiding the parks until Sunday or Monday. I'm hearing that so many people are doing this now, that it's not the best time to go! What do you all think?! I like the idea of having a longer 11 days vs 9, even though we'd stay away from parks till the week after. My sister has gone the week before Thanksgiving the last 2 years and said it wasn't crowded at all (I'm assuming she means after the Veteran's Day people leave on the weekend). Opinions, please?

We have done the Thanksgiving visit for the past 2 years and will be doing it again this year. We arrive the evening before and leave the following Sunday so that gives us 10 full days at the parks. The weekend after Thanksgiving is usually nuts but the week after really makes up for it. Most things are walk-on or have very short wait times.

You will have a great time no matter when you visit!!!

We haven't even gone in July yet DH said he heard week after Thanksgiving best to go. Was thinking of going the Tuesday after should I wait till the following week? He even said he's pulling our DS8 out of school 3 days to do this. This is first year we are buying a pass. I'm excited. Would you go for Dec. 1 or wait till Dec. 8?
Thanks.

We'll be there Nov 13-19 and from everything I've read, it's a great time to go. Thanksgiving week it starts to get crowded again.

we were there a few yrs back the week before veterns days, this yr we are going to be there Nov 11-18. I know there is the food and wne festival but when we went in Nov last time it was and wasn't that crowded. I think the first 2 weeks before Thannksgiving are great both weather and crowd wise. :D

We are going to be there Nov 12 - 19th. That seems to be a nice quiet time to go. We went 2 years ago a few days after Thanksgiving and it wasn't too crowded. We are late arrivals (hubby likes to sleep in on his vacation!) and wait times for the more popular attractions weren't too bad.....Fantasy Land is a different story!

that's exactly when we are going also. I wanted to be gone by the time the thanksgiving crowds started on the 20th. This is our first time in Nov, how was the weather? thanks
Tara

We went before Thanksgiving one year it was great. Cool weather no crowds except Fantasyland. This year I want to see the Christmas decorations & try to do Mickey's Christmas Party. After going 2 times in 1 year may be awhile before we go again.

We've been the 1st week in Nov., the week before Thanksgiving, the week of Thanksgiving, and also the week after Thanksgiving. We had perfect weather on all trips but the crowds were quite large the 1st week (Jersey week) and of course, Thanksgiving week. Will never do those two again!! The week after Thanksgiving is great due to all the Chrisatmas decorations and also we were able to catch the filming of the WDW Christmas Day parade. It was like having Christmas twice that year!!
