The airfare is crazy cheap and I need to buy the plane tix ASAP. I have a choice of either 5/7-17 or 5/14-24. I am leaning toward the earlier part of May because I think it will be less crowded near Mother's Day than Memorial Day and that the price for GCH will be either the same or cheaper earlier in May. We have APs, but I think there is usually a 30-40% off during that time for hotels.

Am I right? Or totally going for the wrong ten days?

I'd go the first part of the month to avoid crowds. Star Tours 2.0 and Little Mermaid may open during May as planned. This usually means for Memorial day weekend and not May 1st. If there are soft openings for either it could bring a rush of locals from the 20million people that live just down for Anaheim.

D23 is hosting the scavenger hunt and the Destination D event in May also. I think it's around the second week in May, like the 13th and 14th I want to say. I forget the exact dates but they are published on the D23 website under 2011 events. If you want to do that, then shoot for those dates but if not, I would avoid those days as it will be probably be busy since this years event was very well received.

I was in DLR for this in September and had a lot of concern it would increase the crowds. If it did I noticed little except for groups of Scavenger Hunters wandering but not going on attractions.

Also while it does take place in May, it's at WDW in 2011.

Awesome info, thank you!

We decided to do 5/8-17 because I didn't want to go to the parks on Mother's Day. Instead I will be on a plane, so that isn't a whole lot better but oh well haha.
