Planning a trip in early 2006 for 7 nights & I really want us to have a no stress trip since we're taking our 3 year old ds. What's important to us is getting a good rate in value season, low crowds & nice weather. I was thinking of the first weeks in Feb. or last week in Jan. ? What do you all think ? What can we expect ? Any past experiences with trips during that time ? Any suggestions are welcome ? :grouphug:

I can't help you out with prices, but I can tell you that if you want a no stress trip (meaning less crowds pleasant weather, etc) then late Jan or even better first week of Feb. is a GREAT time to go! In fact, we go in the summer, but are planning a trip for early Feb 2008. We've been down there in early Feb. 2001 and last week of January 2003. Both were great and were able to swim. Keep the weather in mind. Our trip in Jan. there was a deep freeze all up and down the east coast. It was cold (light to medium jacket) for the 1st 3 days and then warmed up more. We went last July and  was it hot!!

IMO, you get more for your money when you go then because your not waiting in lines all the time. You may still need a FP and PS sometimes though. Plus since it's not as hot..your mood (and everyone elses) is nicer. We got to see alot of the parks and got each park done in 1 day..far cry from the summer. We took that trip when my oldest just turned 5. Now when my youngest is 4.5 we'll do it again...that way they both got to experience all of WDW and got to see and do what they wanted. So the summers are more for relaxing. HTH. Sorry for the very long repsonse!

Well the weather is really fickle in the winter. We were there the last week in February 2004, and it was 78 one day, 38 the next.
The first week of February would probably be your best bet. I don't know when it is, but I know there's a marathon sometime in January that adds to crowds. You'd want to check into that before choosing a date.

We normally go the first week in janaury and we've NEVER had an issue with the marathon crowds. February is also great, just try to avoid the holiday weekend. One other poster has mentioned the weather-don't take that lightyly. It can be ANYTHING. We've had everything from mid 80's to one trip where it never got above 55 and was a deep, damp cold. Just pack a variety of clothes; it will still be great w/o crowds!

Be sure to find out when the 30 thousand or so cheerleaders will be there ;)

That was the only "stress" in our February trip...but DS who was then 15 or so didn't mind AT ALL!!!

We were there February 5 - 12 this year. The crowds were great, and we were there when the cheerleaders were around. The weather was fine, but I am from Western New York, so 35 - 40 degree nights were fine with me. :rotfl2:

The days were terrific, shorts or capris everyday, and we swam a few times. The parks were the best, barely any lines. It was a terrific time to go!!! Good luck with your planning.

Feb is great! we went the past 2 years and love this time of year. Just watch Pres Day, it can be crowded. Let the airfare rates dictate when you go, when the rates go up, it will be more crowded. Every year we go to Fla the last inexpensive week to fly, usually coming home around the 12-15 of Feb. We found Disney to be the same, less crowded the first part of Feb.
Still do the ADRs, with the dining plan things may get more crowded and with a 3 yr old, food schedules are often important.
Have fun!

We were there Feb 1-8 this year. It was pleasant and relatively uncrowded. The day after the Super Bowl was crowded at the MK......the 06 Bowl is in Detroit, so no problems there! ;)

Temps were in the high 60's, low 70's....a little too chilly to swim, but we used the hot tub. Very nice for park touring, though!

Thanks for the heads up. I did some checking & found out the Disney marathon dates are January 7-8, 2006. So far I can deal with cold weather as long as we get the low crowds. So the last weak of Jan. or first week in Feb. is looking better & better. Now if only Disney will release some great codes or specials I'll really be happy ! :wizard:
