I have heard so many good things about these. I would like to start walking but being summer and the afternoon thunderstorms there are more days that I can't walk then I can!!

Which one would you suggest starting with? I am looking to lose about 15 pounds at least by the middle end of september. Actually by October for the wedding but I should be close for my final dress fitting in September so...... I am not terribly overweight but am not in great shape. Don't get winded after a flight of stairs but two or three will do it!! :)

Any suggestions? I need more cardio and walking is good I think. I have the FIRM video's too that I do sometimes.. I go to Curves three times a week. I would like a WATP video to do the days I go to Curves..... I shy away from The FIRM because the weight training puts me out of comission for a day or too....

Hi!

I bought the WATP for ABS DVD and it has the 1, 2 and 3 mile walks on it and came with the walk away belt. I like this dvd b/c you can start with the one mile then work your way up to the 2 mile then finally move onto the 3 mile when you are ready.

I also like it b/c I usually do the 3 mile portion but it's good to be able to do the 2 mile when I'm not feeling so energetic or the 1 mile when I'm in a rush but want to get some exercise. These also come on tapes but I like the dvd b/c they are all on one dvd as opposed to having to buy 3 tapes. Good luck!

I first bought the 2 mile Brisk Walk with stretchy band. While it seemed hard the first 2 times I did it, I *very* quickly got used to it and I'm pretty out of shape. (The FIRM tapes put me out of commission for a few days too.) Anyway, I went and bought the 4-mile after this and realized that was all I needed. If you just buy the 4 mile tape you can choose to stop at any of the "mile marker" points. Leslie Sansone tells you when you reach each mile. So, I might put in the 4-mile tape and only do 2 miles. I also find that the first 2 miles of the 4-mile tape are more vigorous that the 2-mile Brisk Walk (did that make sense). Also, the 4-mile tape doesn't require you to have the stretchy band but it actually makes my arms more fatigued than when I use the tape that has the arm workout...go figure. My friend bought the tape set the other poster above mentioned and she felt the only worthwhile tape of the set was the 3-mile.

Now that I've thoroughly confused you, what do you think you'll do??? :sunny:

Thanks for the reply's

I think I will probally go for the three or four mile tape. the DVD sounds interesting, but I feel that the 1 and 2 mile may go unused. I can also just stop the three or four mile tape if I need to shorten things. I am not worried about any toning with the tapes... that's what the Firm and Curves is about. I want strictly aerobic and cardio workout... that's what will help me to burn fat more.

Thanks for the replies.. I will go shopping tonight. Any suggestions on where to go for the tape?

Well, I'm a little late to catch you before shopping tonight, but I got most of my tapes from Ebay and half.com There are a TON of her tapes on both sites.

I think you made a wise decision with either the 3 or 4 mile. As Christine mentioned, she lets you know when each mile is completed, and you can fast foward to the cool-down/stretch ending.

Onward and Downward!

I just wanted to say that when I first got the FIRM tapes, they did the same thing to me. I was so sore afterwards. In my experience once you start building muscle, you won't get nearly as sore if at all. Yesterday I did Body Sculpt and today I was able to do Cardio Sculpt with no problems at all.

I just got the 3 mile WATP in mail today. :)

I will always try to do it all but if I have to stop I will write down and/or memorize where the cooldown period is so that I can cut to the end if I don't have time for whole thing or what not. :) My dvd player will cut straight to a time point in the video and it was a cheap one so I can imagine most of them have this feature. :)

I only had enough money for the one.

I gave it a try today its tough but doable and I like it.

Remember, you're also starting out at a more advanced level, meaning the first & second miles in that tape are different than what you would have done had you bought the 1 mile tape and the 2 mile tape separately. Does that make sense? The 1 mile tape is really the beginner's tape. When you move to the 2 mile tape, she (being Leslie) figures you're now at that level so, the pace picks up. On the 3 mile, she also figures you've moved up from the earlier tapes, and the pace picks up even faster. Therefore, you're starting at a faster pace just by using the 3 mile tape. I would really suggest just doing the first mile for a few days to see how you feel. Don't push it too fast. ;) I'm glad to hear you like the exercises!
