Which water park is best

We are going to WDW early next spring and have never done any of the water parks. My DD11 and DS14 have wanted to go but we just haven't had the time in the past. We will only have time for one, so am wondering if anyone has any suggestions on which park they found the best. I know it's a matter of opinion and all, but these boards have such great tips, I just have to see what everyone thinks :listen:

We've never been to Blizzard Beach but have gone to Typhoon Lagoon several times. We love Typhoon! The lazy river is especially relaxing and we really like the wave pool too. The kids have been snorkeling with the sharks and enjoyed that as well. There were plenty of chairs for us to sit on I don't remember the crowd being so overwhelming that we didn't enjoy ourselves. I do remember that the food consessions were a bit crowded though and that we had to wait for service. No big deal though. This was during the April spring vacation...

Have fun. :sunny:

I used to recommend TL to families with younger children and BB for those with older kids and teens. However, now that Crush n' Gusher has opened at TL, there's something for them as well. I think it depends on what you and your family enjoy. TL is themed to be very tropical and more laid back, lots of plants, sand, etc. while BB seems to be more fast paced to me personally. Good luck, I don't think I helped at all, lol!

There was a top ten show on water parks in the USA and BB was number 2.
A water park in Texas was #1. TL was brought up when BB was shown but not rated in the top Ten

:beach: Call me old fashioned but I miss River Country. Never been to BB, but TL is awesome, more my style anyways who wants to think about snow when ure in florida? The wave pool and lazy river are enough to sell me, but if thats not enough the swimming with sharks was way cool. :fish:

We enjoyed TL more than BB. Highly recommend if there are EMH in the evening to go then. That is what we did and no one was there. The water coaster closed at 8:00pm though, so we missed it. So we went another day to ride it and take my son to the wave pool. He loved the 6 ft waves. They will give you a scare. There is no jumping over them! Never seen anything like them. We then went to Blizzard Beach. The wave pool was like any other parks wave pool. The family raft ride at BB was long. The water was colder at BB than TL. The sand at BB has the little rocks in it while the sand at TL is nothing but sand. The chairs areas at BB seemed smaller and more crowded.

Oh, and that #1 park in Texas is Schlitterbahn, highly recommend it if you are ever in the San Antonio area. Could always go to SeaWorld and Fiesta TX also.

It depends upon what you want.

Blizzard Beach certainly has more thrilling thrill slides. But most of the super thrills are straight. Humunga Kawabunga is TL's quickest straight slide. It's in the dark so it's a nice slide. But it does not compare to either the Summit Plummet or the slide with the humps. BB also has the racing slides which are fun.

But if you like twists and curves in your slide, I found Typhoon Lagoon better for those with the Crush N Gusher and the storm slides.

The Tube slides at TL are more intermediate than anything else and one of em does more ramming you into the wall and jolting you than anything else.

The group slide is far superior at Blizzard beach.

Typhoon Lagoon has the swim with the sharks and Blizzard Beach has nothing like that to offer.

Typhoon lagoon, as the older park, has more shade.

Blizzard Beach has the area for the 8-13 set where you can go on a zip line or walk across the floaties. TL doesn't have that. But TL has a better kids area for the little ones.

TL has the wave pool capable of the big waves and it really is fun. But it also has areas off to the side for the little ones where they won't get a huge crasher. But don't expect a tube at this pool. Too Dangerous for that.

Well that's about it in a nutshell.
Pick which one is better for your group.

I am also for the first time this September planning on going to the water parks and wondering which one to go to??
Any other opinions on which water park to visit and also what time of year did you go?
Thanks!

WE love BB but will try TL with kids now that there is a new attraction.

I found the slides better at BB, but the themimg is better at TL. The slides at BB seem twice as long than those at TL, so even though you stand in line the same amount of time at TL, the ride is over much faster.

I really dislike the BB theming. There is a lot of concrete painted white, so it seems really hot. Sometimes it gets hot on your feet when you're standing in line on that concrete. At TL, it's shady and tropical, and it just seems more refreshing. The day I was at TL they piped Beach Boys music all day.

I wish there was a park that had the slides of BB but the atmosphere of TL.

Thanks to everyone for your input!! I will let my DD, DS and DH reads these, and let them decide. I love these boards!!

They both have pros and cons! BB has a lot of water slides but TL has a better wave pool! What about both? lol. But yeah, it depends on what you want to do at the water park! You and your family will have a blast at either so good luck deciding! :thumbsup2

I haven't been to TL in forever, but I remember really liking the lazy river and the lush landscaping. Went to BB a few years ago and didn't care for the concrete feeling of it. Also, I got a good tip after the fact that BB can be very BRIGHT on your eyes on a sunny day because everything is so white there. That was definitely true. Wish I had known that before we went. At TL didn't have that problem.
