Which villa?

We have only stayed at moderate resorts in the past. Need 2 bedroom unit so we are looking at villas. Not sure which to choose - Wilderness Lodge, Animal Kingdom Kidani or Old Key West. We are a group of 4 - my husband, my daughter and her boyfriend and me. We need 3 sleeping areas and from what I can see from online video descriptions all villas have a sleeper sofa or chair, but are these in the living area i.e. separate from the bedrooms. Also we are looking or two full baths and a full kitchen. I am leaning more toward WL now, but not sure about the other choices. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

All three of the resorts you list will have 3 separate sleeping areas, but in every case, one of them will be a pullout in the living room.

All will have two bathrooms except Kidani, which will have 3. for that reason, I'd go with Kidani.

AFAIK, except for the THV at SSR, all DVC resort 2 bedrooms will have 3 separate sleeping areas, but one will always be in the living room. You'd need a 3 bedroom / Grand Villa or a Treehouse Villa at SSR to get 3 separate sleeping areas that leave the living room area free. The THV are about the size of a 2 bedroom, but have 3 bedrooms.

Thank you for your quick reply. Having the separate sleeping area as a pull-out sofa in the living room is fine. It's for the boyfriend - I'm not that 'hip' of a mom even though my daughter is 23 - and I'm not paying for a third bedroom  Given that would you still go with Kidani and how does it compare with Wilderness Lodge as far as location/amenities? I think my husband would love Wilderness Lodge, but I have not been to any villa so I can't really be sure. I really don't know that much about where each villa is situated and as it's been about 10 years since we have been to WDW, I feel like I'm starting over in the research department. Any other information you could provide would be very helpful.

I would choose Kidani for the 3rd bathroom. It is also a beautiful resort that is so peaceful and relaxing. You have two great pools to choose from as well. I like WLV, but prefer AKV or even OKW.

You can not beat the size of the OKW rooms. The largest of any DVC resort rooms.

If you want to be next to a park, choose VWL, BLT, VGF for the MK.

BWV or BCV for Epcot and DHS.

For us bathrooms aren't a deciding factor, we just take turns.

Another option depending on your requirements would be a 1 bedroom that has a sleeper chair in the living room. So that would mean a pull out couch in the living room and a sleeper twin chair bed. Obviously that would have them both in the main living area but I'm just pointing out the option. AKV (except value category), BLT, and OKW 1 bedrooms all have this option. BLT and AKV (Kidani only) also have an additional bathroom to give you 2 full baths.

Have a great trip back to WDW!!!

I think the 1 bdr at OKW is about 1,000 square feet. Much more like an apartment than a "suite" hotel room. You and your daughter can take the king bed, and your husband and the boyfriend can each have their own pullouts in the living room! The pull out chair is about the size of a twin-size bed. The sofabed is queen-sized...I think. If you decide to go with an OKW 1 bdr, ask for a unit that has 2 entries to the bathroom...one through the laundry room in addition to the one through the master bedroom.
