Planning my next trip and totally forgot about the Villas as an option. I have a co-worker who just joined the DVC, so renting points will be pretty easy. Which villa would you stay at and why? I'm going solo, so I would only need a studio.

Thanks in advance!!!

When are you looking at going and is there anything specific you want to do on this trip?

Going the first week of December and definitely plan on seeing the Candlelight Processional again (would do dinner package). Also would do tours of the various resorts to view holiday decorations and gingerbread displays. Other than that, it would be the various parks, as well as Wishes at the Magic Kingdom, Fantasmic at MGM & Illuminations at EPCOT.

I love the Beach Club Villas. I love the theaming, location (great for walking back after an evening in Epcot or after Fantasmic rather than having to wait for a bus.) Plus the BC has a gingerbread display as does the Boardwalk which is only a few minutes walk away. We are staying in the BCV next Christmas.

I went solo the second week in December last year, and I strongly second the Beach Club Villas. The convenience to hop over to Epcot to see the CP was great. Also, I loved sitting in the swings on the beach in the evening and watching the Boardwalk view. Lovely!

Perfect timing for this poll!
We are planning to take my Step-son & his family, including my 2 adorable grandsons to WDW for Christmas next year. We are looking at the possibility of a 2 bedroom villa. I am leaning toward OKW for the extra size & a bit of a break from the hustle & bustle of the Parks. DGS's will be 3 & 5 & most likely, quite over-stimulated.

If it weren't for taking the grandchildren, I'd lean more toward BWV or BCV.

And remember that for a solo in a studio, Old Key West has 2 beds, not a bed and a couch. Personnally, I sit on the couch with my morning coffee, cup of tea, or whatever, and watch TV. At OKW, you have to either sit on the bed or sit in a chair to watch TV.

I voted for Boardwalk because you can get to every park except AK by walking, monorail or boat.

There's alot to do in that area because you have many resorts so there's always something to do.

Happy planning!

Does this mean you walk from Boardwalk thru Epcot to take the monorail to MK?

I voted for BW villas as I just had a great stay there. Everything ran very well (shared bus to MK but not to AK) and took Friendship boats to Ep & MGM. I would also vote if I could pick 2 for WLV as you really wanted to stay at WL as well. Either way, you can't go wrong and have a wonderfully peaceful trip.

We do VWL every Dec. Love it. That being said, a lot depends on where your friend owns points at. That week is pretty popular with DVCers and depending on where they own, they will need to book for you at the 11 month window (esp for BCV, VWL and BWV). Have fun planning!

Boardwalk villas are a perfect home base for you. Plus the Christmas decoartions are wonderful! Walking distance to 2 parks... stumping home distance from Jellyrolls.... AND A great bar for a night cap on the BWI side of the lobby.

We stay at BWV the beginning of December every year. Love it! Treat yourself to a Boardwalk view (ask the member to call right at 11 months).

I would go with the boardwalk Villas! :smooth: I know the planning is really hard, :badpc: but I strongly suggest the BWV. I like the overall feel of the place...

The week you have picked is one of the most popular with DVC members.

Be sure your friend books this exactly at 11 months out, or you might not get the location you want. BW is very popular that week and goes very quickly. So does VWL and BCV.
