:confused:Which villa is better, Wilderness Lodge Villas or Boardwalk Villas, we are trying to decide which one to go to. We have only tried the Boardwalk Villas and Beach Club. Also, we were wondering how you can get the countdown in your post. (newbie)

thanks!:)

The room layout is almost exactly the same at BWV, BCV and VWL, so the question is what decor and location would you prefer?

If you have small kids and need a 2 br for space -- I'd probably go VWL. You get the 2 queens, and only one enter/exit door on a dedicated 2br.

However -- if we're talking studio or 1 br, I agree with previous post -- what's your decor preference and are you an MK fan, or Epcot / MGM-er?

If you're on a pilgrimage to "do all the DVC", you'll need to go VWL just to say you've been there, done that -- and believe me, you won't regret it! ;)

Cindy

Maybe we'll split the 10 days up between BWV and VWL. We've been at BWV a few times, but the decor looked great at the VWL. Counting down the days!

Are the 2 queens in the 2nd bedroom a guarantee at VWL?
Thanks for the info.

i believe all Dedicated 2-bdrms in DVC resorts are supposed to have 2 queen beds in the 2nd bedroom. so as long as you book a Dedicated 2-bdrm, then the 2 queens are guaranteed.

the exception is BCV, where they made a mistake when building/furnishing the resort, so as a result, the majority of Dedicated 2-bdrms at BCV do NOT have 2 queens in the 2nd bedroom; instead they have 1 queen bed + 1 queen pull-out sofabed.

At BWV, there is no real "dedicated" 2br. You get a studio and 1 br lock-off. And the studios have a queen and sleeper sofa. At BCV, there are dedicated 2brs without 2 queens and dedicated 2 brs with 2 queens, and lastly, lock-off 2 brs that are like what I described @ BWV. VWL and OKW have 2br villas that you KNOW you'll get those 2 queens.

And for some reason I still haven't figured out, the light switches and door handles are realllllly low at BWV. So if you have kids, and you put them in the 2nd br (that's actually a studio, so it has a door to the hall right in there), you live in fear that the little hooligans will be flipping on the lights, unlocking the door, out roaming the halls unbeknownst to you!

We are planning to try BWV for the first time on our next trip... I think I'll take a motion sensor alarm and strap in to the door... or maybe my kids... whichever works! :)

When DH was reading the subject line - Which Villa is better? - he commented, "The one you are staying at right now."

Sorry, off topic, just had to chime in.:)

We really liked the BWV resturaunts, does the VWL have good resturants?

I have heard rave reviews for Artisit's point but have only ever had b'fast there (back when it was a character meal -- '99?) HOWEVER -- on a whim our fam of 5 went to Whispering Canyon. We LOVED it. It's a rowdy atmosphere, and plenty to keep kids (and adults!) entertained. I had ribs that were great and plentiful, and dh had the pork chops and declared them excellent as well. We were leaving the next day, and we had thought that by ordering an entree' off the menu (as opposed to the skillet) we wouldn''t end up with left-overs. WRONG. But they were too good to leave behind -- we packed them in the cooler and chowed down on cold ribs and pork somewhere around SAvannah the next day while the kids had McDonald's! (Sadly, the kids still think that poor ol Mom and Dad didn't have enough money to buy their own Happy MEal... ah, the sacrifices we make for our children, right?)

My sister and her family got b'fast and maybe lunch one day at the Roaring Forks -- mainly quicker pick-up stuff there.

Check the dining / restaurants board if you want a broad opinion on the WL eateries! My family declared WC tops in our book and want to eat there again.

Cindy

Here's another vote for Whispering Canyon! We have been there for both breakfast and supper, and like it best for breakfast. We always get the skillet.

We also enjoy Artist's Pointe for a relaxing dinner in the evening. If you like salmon, they have some of the best that I've ever eaten.

Maybe we'll split the 10 days up between BWV and VWL.
Great idea, then you experience 2 different vacations rolled up in one! The villas themselves are basically the same it is the location and theming that makes you feel as though in you are in two completely different vacation spots that are 1,000s of miles apart.
I like all the restaurants at VWL and BWV very much and eat in them all. My favorites for a nice dinner are Flying Fish and Artist Point, both wonderful! Try the Seared NY strip steak and the bananas napeolean at FF and the buffalo rib eye and the berry cobbler at AP--yummy!!!!!
