Which value resort?

So we're looking at staying at a value which we haven't done for about 10 years. We're aren't concerned with things like how good the food court is or how spread out the resort is. Our main concern is condition of the rooms. When we stayed at a value last time it just seems a little dirty and I remember multiple mold spots throughout the bathroom so bad that we requested a room change. We've beeen staying at mods since then only because we wanted larger beds, but this trip beds aren't important. So my question is, which value resort(s) have the cleanest rooms in the best condition?

We love Art of Animation for the family suites, but it is pretty pricey for a value.

I would hate to refer you to a resort only to have you find a dirty room and than you would never talk to me again. I think its a chance you take when using public access such as a hotel room, public restroom, etc. One day the rooms are immaculate and the next day, becuase the staff felt rushed, were in a bad mood-what ever, didn't do such a good job. I have stayed at the All Star Music for the last 7 stays and never had a problem with the cleanliness of the rooms. Not to say others did, just that I didn't. I have a friend who stayed at the Grand Floridian and was appalled at the lack of cleanliness. They were quickly moved and had no furhter problems. My son always stays at Port Orleans and they too once had a problem. I noticed one of the previous posters said bugs are everywhere. This is true. It is Florida. You can't get away from them. They are and will be every where. You just have to be aware. As for bed bugs, that is something fortunatly I have never encountered. I would never stand for that and like I said, I haven't found them in our rooms to date. What ever your choice, I hope you have a great stay.

I've read about dirty rooms in the Deluxes too. I think generally it's not a resort-wide thing, but more of a mousekeeper having a bad day or a room being overlooked thing, and can happen anywhere. So I wouldn't say one resort is "cleaner" than any others - whether value, moderate or deluxe. I think you have to look to something else to choose, like theming.

We've stayed at Pop ASMovies and ASSports, all had clean rooms. We like Pop the best of the three, but all were clean when we went.

I've stayed at Sports, Music, and Pop, and my rooms have been clean at all 3 resorts.

I hate to tell you, but a less than perfect room can happen at any resort.

I stay exclusively at the All-Stars, and some of the rooms can be, let's say, careworn. Not dirty, just needing a new carpet or paint job. We give the rooms a thorough check when we get there-put the luggage in the tub and do a bedbug check (never saw them in any room at an All-Star). Everything has been just fine. We prefer All-Star Movies for the theming and get a preferred room. Last time we had Toy Story and loved it.

I've stayed at All-Star Sports and the room was very clean. I've had stays at CBR and some of the Deluxe hotels where the rooms were, shall we say, not as clean. We had mold in the Deluxe resorts that was so bad we had to have them come and clean it. So, it's not just an issue with the value resorts.

Have a great trip!!

When are you planning on going? Pop Century is currently having rooms refurbished so that might be a possibility. They would at least be 'fresh' and not 'worn.'

We stayed at Art of Animation and saw nothing remotely dingy in our Lion King Family Suite. We loved that resort.

I like that Pop has its own bus. You risk having to share a bus with the All-Stars. The All-Stars also are the "go-to" for any kind of groups/tournaments with kids. However the All-Stars are always a good bit cheaper than Pop & AoA, so if saving $15 or so a night is worth it to you, go for it.

AoA had its own buses too when we were there.

The two I have stayed at are POP and AoA and I thought they were both awesome. I don't think you can go wrong with either.

Thanks for all of your input :)
Do you think there would be room for an inflatable twin size mattress? If we end up with 4 in the room it would be my two teenagers- 15 yo DD and 17 yo DS. They will not want to share a double bed. They will be there with their cross country team for the cross country classic but we may add a few days at the end and they will be with us.

Our room at Pop had two double beds and I think there would be room on the floor for an inflatable twin mattress, although it would need to be propped up against the wall or something during the day when people are walking around the room since the mattress would block the main walkway.

There should be, but it will be tight. It could probably fit right by the door.

Just move the table and chairs over near closet/sink area and then an air mattress will fit where the table normally sits. You can request a cot if that would work for you. I think they charge for it though.
