DH and I have never stayed at a Value Resort. We have stayed at 2 moderates (POFQ, and CSR). I loved POFQ, but we are trying to do more of a budget trip in January. Which Value Resort would you suggest and why? Also, which section of that resort would you recommend?

I don't know if it matters, but we will not be driving so are relying on WDW transportation.
Thanks, Dawn

I would rec the POP becasue it is newer therefore less worn and Disney seems to have made some improvements to the Value resort when they built POP.

We stayed (2 adults) in the 50's section last Feb (4th fl, room 2456) - it was not more than a 4 or 5 min walk to everything and there was a pool right out front of the building. We had a Lake & Illuminations view, so we could see Illuminations every night from the window or better by stepping outside.

Be sure to request some kind of room location because I met a couple who did not request anything and had a 1st fl room facing bushes!! I felt so sorry for them..they were trying to get a room change, but the resot was full - they had just checked in and would be there for 10 days!!

If you go to the resort faq and click on POP you'll find lots of good info . Also try these links for maps and photos.

We had only stayed at moderates and deluxes before the POP and I was really worried..just try to adjust your expectation and you'll have a great time and enjoy the money you saved. Buese were great, no problem and never waited long.

My DH and I have stayed at AS Sports & AS Movies and have enjoyed our stays at those value resorts. The rooms have always been clean and decorated much better than your standard "hotel." Not that I think of the values that way, but I have seen people refer to them that way and also commenting that they are "cheesy" which I also disagree with.

I agree with BaciBecky and would give POP a try because it is the newest of the values. Depending upon your age, you could request a building by your favorite era! My only complaint about value resorts are the sounds of lots & lots of children's voices and crying in those large food courts. But we chose to eat outside the resort for that reason.

Have a magical vacation in whichever resort your choose!:wave2:

How true, TKDizneyluver,

The food court was noisy for sure, but we did not eat there often..and you can take your food way over to the other side to the bar and sit over there..it is MUCH quieter!

After you look at the all the photos you might find you are drawn to one era more than another and you'll have the map to help.

You'll have a great trip!

Christine

PS I love the CBR!! But tomorrow it's the GF for the first time!!

We had one of those crying kids at ASM last week. Waited 2 hours for a bus after Wishes (and someone was kind enough to throw-up in the line...at least I wasn't the parent of that child) didn't get back to our room till 11:30pm and my 2yodd had a meltdown in the room. I felt bad for whomever was in the room next to us, but thought, "welcome to Motel He**" You get what you pay for.

I would definitely recommend Pop Century and I'd request an area that would have the least amount of interest to kids. Also, the Pop Century line, which was way longer than the ASM line at MK was empty when we were boarding our bus and there was at least 2 more bus loads of people behind us.

What I'd REALLY recommend is you spend a little extra and go back to the moderates. I will NEVER do a value resort again.

Ohhh, your poor little one and you as well! Just wanted to mentioned (and I might be an odd one ) that I do not mind a screaming little one at Disney. At a food court I simply try to find another area quieter and in the room I just know they are tired and the parents are tired and it's the end of a long day. Gosh, it's Disney after all! And really, it never bothers me wherever I am. Of course, I work with newborns to 4 yr old :)

At the POP I never heard anyone -except those toilets!!

I think I mentioend they told us it was full..so, maybe we were lucky, but I never would have though of the POP rooms as loud.

:wave2: Tomorrow we'll be there again!!
