I am planning a last minute trip to Disney for January. I am trying to stay on a low budget for this trip. It will be myself, my mom & my 2 boys (age 4 & 6). 3 value resorts are offering 25% room only discounts: All Star Music, All Star Sports & Pop Century. I know I have read great things about Pop but it's a little more expensive than the other 2. Opinions would be greatly appreciated!

POP, Sports, music in that order.

POP would be my only recommendation, but as you can see from my signature, I'm biased.

POP has it's own dedicated bus system, great food court, great theming.

I can''t imagine the price difference is too much to be concerned with.

It's not too much, I think $41 more. I just wasn't sure if it's that much better than the other 2 to make it worth paying more. Thanks for sharing!

I like the layout, theme, food court, and dedicated buses at POP over any of the All Stars. To me, POP is worth $41 more....and actually, most of the difference there is due to the different tax rate from POP to All Stars....POP is technically in a different county with slightly higher taxes.

Is the bus system any faster from POP than AS Resorts? This will be our first time using the buses so any help there would be great too! Thanks!

I have stayed at all the hotels you mentioned. Personally, I don't find any differences in them other than theme. I wouldn't pay any more to stay at pop over the all stars. As for bus sharing, IMO, blown out of proportion heavily on these boards. The all stars usually share during non peak times midday, say 11-4. We have stayed in music and movies within the past year and always had our own buses in the morning and at park closings. Pop is certainly dedicated bus service but it is a large resort. Our experiences have had busy buses at pop, filled to capacity. I would describe our experiences at the 4 values (haven't experienced AoA) to all be equal and adequate.

I like the food court at pop just a tiny bit better but prefer the layouts of the all stars much more. They are smaller and IMO, no need to pay for a preferred room. Some of the standard rooms are quite a distance at pop. With your two boys ages, I would choose either sports or pop because of the themes. I think no matter which resort you choose you will have a great time. We would gladly stay in any of the values again.

I agree with the previous poster about the busses at All Starts. We had the fastest bus service when staying at ASMusic than any other resort...we never had to share a bus.

We really enjoyed Sports! It is easy to get around and the first picked up/dropped off when buses are shared! We liked Pop too but it just seemed so spread out and a little more busy. I recommend both!

Personally, for us, the best bus service we have had at Disney has been at POP. It's could be sheer luck or that it's actually better.

We personally don't mind the buses at all though, so for us, it's not really a big deal anywhere we stay....but the best was definitely at POP. (Again....for us)
YMMV.
