Which Value is most recently reno'd?

Hello,

Just wondering which has been most recently reno'd. We stayed at POP in 04 and were impressed, then stayed at ASMo in 05 and it seemed a little tired in comparison...

We're looking at a summer trip so pools wil be a big factor too.

I would say stay at Pop. Parents stayed at Asmu and said it was really run down, as well as sports. Pop has less wear and tear since it is a fairly new resort.

Sports has just been renovated. We stayed in a new room in the baseball section last Nov, and it was really nice. I think all of them are supposed to be done by now, or pretty quick.

I still think that the Pop is a nicer resort overall. I'd say go with that...

Stayed at Music last August and loved it. The pool and rooms were newly renovated. They were trying out some new programs for the kids also. They had games, music, dancing and movies at night by the pool and my kids loved it. I'm not sure if they are still doing it, but it was great.

Here's one more vote in favor of the All-Stars over POP. At ASSp, the recently-redone room was terrific, and I was surprised at how relatively compact the resort was. No room was really far from a nice pool or from the food court.

My wife and I enjoyed Pop in 2004, but I know there has been no room refurbishing there since then.

Thanks for the responses! Does anyone know where there might be a link to which rooms have been reno'd in each resort? I'd be up for trying out ASMu or Sports.

I don't have a link, but I think all of sports should be done, except maybe building 10. There was a rumor it was going to be made into suites. The whole baseball section is done, and there is a pool there, with laundry facilities. I was very pleased with that area. When you make your reservation, request a renovated room. Requests aren't guaranteed, but they try to honor them.


Also, Sports is the 1st stop for the busses when picking up and dropping off. We had great bus service for our Thanksgiving trip.

If you're looking to go this summer you may want to book soon, Disney is getting incredibly popular and things sell out. Just a thought.

Thanks again! My WDW travel agent has the dates and she is going to be sending me a quote soon... I'm likely going to let DS6 decide in the end which he wants to try. Our WDW vacations tend to be all about him. Soon DS1 will have a say too! Someday DMOM(ME) and DDAD will go by themselves and do the scary rides and sip lazy drinks by the pool...for now though I just love making everything about them.

ASmu was fully renovated as of the end of last year. There is a thread here on the Dis with pictures of the new rooms and they look beautiful. I also heard rumor that ASmo is being renovated. Much to my dismay Pop will soon have the least updated rooms.

ASMusic is finished with refurb, and the last I read, Sports was in the process. They will re-do all of the rooms in the resort, like they did with Music.

We're staying at Music in Nov.

We stayed at ASMu in December and it was fully renovated. It was Awesome!!! DS17 loved it!!! Which is a good thing since I booked that resort for him!!! When we were checking in, I told him that the notes around the desk were a real song... about 10 seconds later, he named it!! DD16 and DD's BFF loved it too!!! We all had so much fun it was hard to get them to go to MVMCP!

POP hasn't been renovated since it is the newest value. *** was just renovated and I'm hoping ASMo is next.

It has not. Keep in mind that both Sports and Music opened in 1994, as opposed to Movies in '99 and Pop in '03 so they definitely had more wear and tear on them.

We stayed at Movies in 2006. I do believe they have done some renovations there too. We stayed in the Toy Story section in Buzz. Those rooms had been redone. At that time the Woody section was being worked on. Others that stayed there last year might know more.
