Which Universal park?

Hi everyone! Don't use this part of Dis very often as we are usually only at WDW and only stay on site. However, next week we are staying at Bonnet Creek for a convention and get free tickets for 1 day at Universal. I don't know which park to go to. We plan on getting there when it opens and leave around 4. Any tips, advice would be greatly appreciated. Which park is your favourite? Is it like WDW, should I get there well before opening? It will be just me and dh, our favourite Disney parks are Epcot and MK. We are not huge Harry Potter fans though think it would still be fun to check it out at the park. Thanks!

There is a Universal board where you might also want to ask.I love both parks but I think right now l would suggest you visit Islands of Adventure as the Universal park has demolished the entire old Amity/Jaws area to creat what looks like a new Potter area that will connect to the Potter area at IOA via the Hogwarts express train.There are still some good attractions at the Universal park that I would consider doing it because they're that good,rides like the Mummy or Men in Black but honestly if I just had one day I think IOA would be the one to pick since you would get to see what the Potter area is like as well as having the Spider Man ride which just got a makeover with a brand new high definition movie adding to what was already one of the best rides in the world.I would definitely try to be there as early as possible as you'll be able to get some rides in with short waits.I'm not a huge Harry Potter fan either but I appreciate the details in the area and castle,the ride is great and will have the lines get long so try and get it in early especially since you don't plan to be there late.If you planned to be there until park closing I would maybe suggest you do the Universal park if it's a Mardi Gras night as it has one of the coolest parades in Orlando as well as great atmosphere ending with the concert.

I would do IOA. I still can't believe they demolished Jaws. ET will probably be next.

Thank you both very much. Didn't realize there was a Universal board. Will look there as well. Wow, Jaws was my father in laws favourite!
