for a group of women at a conference? We'll be at Portofino Bay from 10/13 - 10/17, but we'll only have one full day to go to a park. I'm 42 and the other two women I will be with are early 50s. We're always up for a good time but I don't think we'll be much into coasters.

WWYD?

I would do both parks. There are only two coasters at IOA....three if you count Flying Unicorn. And there are two coasters at USF...if you count woody woodpecker.

I would recommend Universal Studios or buying the 2 park ticket and do a bit of each park (since you're staying onsite, you will be able to get the Front of the Line pass, so you guys will be able to hit plenty of rides/shows in) I am also not a fan of coasters or big drops, so IOA really doesn't hold my attention for too long, but I absolutely love Spiderman and the water rides at IOA so I guess I really can't choose between Universal or IOA:goodvibes Both parks are lots of fun, so you can't go wrong :thumbsup2

i agree...difficult to choose between the two..... DO BOTH!!! :yay:

IF you have to choose just one, go for the Studios. IOA is beautiful but has less to see at this point and does have the two big coasters whereas the Studios just has the one heavily themed coaster. (I'm not counting the little coasters.) IOA also has a few rides where you're going to get wet which you may or may not like.

This would be my opinion as well.

US is my first choice because the shows there are cute. The Shrek 4 D is a must see. The only thing at IOA that stands out in my mind for adults is the spider man ride which may or may not interest you. I think IOA is geared more to teens and US is geared to everyone. Of course it is just an opinion.

I say do both. In IOA I would say at least ride Spiderman and do Pseideon Fury and the Sinbad Show. Also eat lunch at Mythos.
The minor coaster Flying Unicorn is fun and you might even enjoy the rides in Seuslanding. If you don't mind getting wet then you also Have Popeye, Dudley DoRight and Jurassic Park.

Everything in US would probably be ok, maybe with the exception of Revenge of the Mummy. However even my non-coaster riding husband loves it.

Is reservation required at Mythos in Sept ? Do they even take reservations ?

They do take reservations, but I've never found it necesairy to make them prior to the day we eat there. Typically they put a same day reservation list in the lobby around 10 AM. We just stop by and sign up on the form for the time we want.
