Hi planning on spending 1 or 2 nights at a universal hotel before or after a stay at Disneys Beach Club resort but not sure what one to pick as have never set foot in any of them. There are 5 of us,myself and dh,my son 22,daughter 33 and granddaughter 9yrs and it will be at the beginning of November this year that we will stay.
Looking for a bit of luxury and am thinking maybe the Hard Rock as my husband and son are music nuts also not sure if club level will be worth it for just 1-2 nights stay?Probably won't use the pool due to short amount of time so pools aren't an issue.
Hope someone can help me decide
Thanks
:yay:

I will tell you that Portofino Bay is the most luxurious and the most expensive of the 3.Royal Pacific is the cheapest and HArd Rock is in between them.I have had excellent stuff about all 3 ( I am staying at the Royal Pacific for the 1st time in October).I will say that UNLIKE disney, Universal encourages pool hopping, so you don't really need to base your choice on the pool anyway

We just stayed at the Portofino in a Dr Seuss suite and it was great. Walking out on the Piazza in the morning is magnificent and tranports you to Italy.

Our two DD's loved the pool at the Portofino and we had a hard task getting them out each evening.

Dining options are Italian, Italian and Italian, but the food is also great.

The staff were very helpful organising a doctor for our youngest who came down sick during our stay.

I stayed at Royal Pacific Resort in June 2010, and had a great time. But I was wondering if it is possible to stay at one hotel, and regularly go and eat at another hotel's restaurants for dinner?

Could I sleep at PBH, wake up and walk for breakfast at HRH, spend a day in IOA, then take a rivertaxi to RPR and end up having dinner in its Islands Dining Room?

I can wish. :cool1:

Yes you may. This is one of the best things about Universal. The encourage the hotel hopping.:thumbsup2 We always stay at RPR due the the price and relaxing atmosphere. Then we travel to HRH for pool and lunches. We have yet to go to PBH, maybe this time we will eat dinner there.

We've stayed at Hard Rock and highly recommend it. It pretty much beats any hotel that WDW has execept for maybe the Grand Floridian. From HR you can easily walk to both parks or take a boat over to City Walk.

Just what I was going to say, Portifino is the ultimate in luxery IMO. Very plush and exotic, I love that hotel. ALthough we usually end up staying at the Royal Pacific, its cheaper and has a lovely theme too, I really like the Pacific tropical theme the RP has. P is an Italian Riviera theme, also it has balconies, the others don't. I would strongly suggest assking for a balcony. Also the P has the best pool IMO as well.

i've stayed at all three and rph is now my favorite.

looking at the ages in your group, i think you would appreciate the larger rooms so you don't feel crowded.

PBH would be the one i suggest that you book.

the hotel is lovely.
wait until you stay there.
you will be wowed...........!

pool hop to the other hotels, eat at the other hotels, no restrictions.....
