Still trying to figure this out... We'll be at WDW for our 7th anniversary. We'll be doing CRT prior to this for our princesses. We're looking for a non-character meal, romantic, but ok with kids. We've heard great things about Coral Reef, but we're not really seafood people...
Our plans are to do this dinner and then hike on over to MK for spectromagic and wishes (the only night of our trip that has spectro).

What do you think? We're also open to other suggestions...

The Coral Reef has a really good steak. We ate there in June and it was sooo yummy. The atmosphere is great too. One entire wall of the restaurant is the Living Seas aquarium.

We have eaten at LeCellier too. Everything we ordered was delicious. Not much to keep the kids occupied but it is kid friendly.

Have never eaten at Yachtman.

If you were to eat at either Coral Reef of LeCellier, you could take the monorail over to the Magic Kingdom so I would choose one of those.

We have dined at YSH on 3 out of last 4 anniversaries. Each time we got a complimentary dessert, once I got a long stem red rose and last time we got personalized menus (we never asked for these).

These meals (and the 1 other time I ate there) have all been absolutely amazing. I would definitely choose this for a special occassion.

TwinMom. . . I'm having the same dillema. We'll be there for our 10th anniversary next May and we've chosen Artist Point. Excellent food and your little princesses won't be out of place (mine didn't feel that way). We've also done Coral Reef and the Yachtsman Steakhouse. Both are great choices. In my opinion, the food is better at Yachtsman but the atmosphere is better at Coral Reef. Whatever you decide, have a great trip.

I voted for the Yachtsman Steakhouse. Definitely the best resturant for an anniversary out of your choices.

So glad to hear about everyone's experiences. We were intrigued by Yachtsman but worried about getting to the MK - although we don't really have an MK agenda that night other than spectro/wishes. After hearing such good things, maybe we'll try to figure it out...

I've always heard great things about the Yachtsman, but have never dined there.

Le Cellier: has good food, but except for the cheese soup and pretzel bread, we were not really wowed. The ambience is no different than our neighborhood steak place.

Coral Reef: I think the atmosphere is very cool here, this would be my pick. But then, I am a water sign and love the ocean. For me, the blues and greens are calming and romantic, and the food is good. They have non-seafood items as well. I have heard that it can be very noisy - never has been for us, but be aware.

The Yachtsman Steakhouse was one of the best meals DF and I had when we were there in January. We're both big steak eaters and everything was cooked to perfection. The place was quiet and relaxed, but not for lack of kids. We also had the pleasure of my favorite server in all of WDW. Unfortunately, I don't remember his name. He was incredibly attentive and very informative, and lavishly complimented every menu choice I made. He had me smiling the entire meal. It was really wonderful.

You can take a bus right from the Yacht Club to the MK.

I have to vote none of the above. We were just there in September and, hands down, Wolfgang Puck's (not the upstairs and not the counter service, the regular restaurant) was by far the best food we ate. Atmosphere was nice, and kids were definitely not out of place. Service was fantastic. The food was unbelievable!:woohoo:

We ate at Coral Reef in June'07 and found the food alright, atmosphere was chaotic with kids and service was spotty at best. With kids maybe LeCellier, without kids do the Yatchsmen Steakhouse. Remember bus from Yatch Club goes to maingate, not the monorail.

Have you thought about going to Jiko? The food is wonderful and it's not bad for children either. DH and I celebrated our 7.5 :rotfl: anniversary there a year and half ago, with DD, who was almost 4 at the time.

Another vote for Jiko

Plus two other suggestions:

Citricos (at GF- which would be convenient for MK...)

And California Grill (also convenient to MK...)

Those 3 would have to be my favorite restaurants. With the kids, maybe California Grill would be the best choice of those 3. FYI I voted Le Cellier, have never been but have ADRs for our upcoming Honeymoon and have heard wonderful things. Coral Reef does not appeal to me (I've eaten there before, and would only return because DH likes the ocean). YS is nice but seems like a steakhouse you could visit at any nice hotel (I ate there when staying at the Yacht Club).

Happy Anniversary, and I'm sure your dinner will be excellent no matter what you decide!

We've eaten at all three of your choices and the Yachtsman is by far the better restaurant. Great service and food.

I'd also suggest Artist Point for your anniversary dinner.
