Some of the Disney internet sites have banned discussion of companies that don't sponsor the site. DIS only bans mention of the couple of companies who engaged in egregious conduct on DIS.

I will not go into details here, but when a company is banned here, it has been with good reason.

I can fully appreciate this, but is there somewhere we can go (not necessarily on these boards) to see the names of these companies? I've been watching this thread to see who would be good to use when we go on DCL in Oct & want to make sure that I stay away from the "bad" ones.

I'll just have to make sure that I stick w/ the ones who's names show up in this thread!!

Just because a company is banned from discussion here does not neccesarily mean that they provided bad service. It simply means that they violated the board guidelines. There are only two companies that have been banned here. I have even used one of them, with fine results. But, they violated the guidelines here, so no discussion of them. The other company, which I have not used, gets many good posts...at least that's what I've seen. But again, they violated board guidelines.

I really wouldn't worry about getting bad service unless you actually see something reported. And even then....I have not seen one single company that has had no bad reports. They all have had some complaint or another.

Thanks to the Mod for clarifying that "good reason" does not necessarily mean bad service or ripping off consumers. Who among us hasn't violated one (or more) of the board rules. Sarcasm anyone

I would advise KJF to check with the BBB as well as various boards to get info on a company. The reality of travel boards like this is that a good many are run by travel agencies in an effort to drum up business along with their love of Disney/cruising, etc. They board owner goes out and solicits advertisers for financial backing. Then, to one degree or another, the board owner makes efforts to limit the advertiser's competition. It happens on many boards, not just this one; it isn't "wrong", it just is what happens.

So right. I have seen other boards that allow no discussion of anyone that is in competition with the board sponsors. And that just doesn't happen here. There is plenty of discussion about a lot of other companies. I have even posted less than favorable things about the board sponsor. Heck, I'm still here!! But, the board sponsor did have some issues, the issues were taken care of.
As long as board guidelines are kept to, there shouldn't be any issues.

We have used Tiffany a few times and things were great. Has anyone tried Mears for Stretch Limo service before? Just curious.
