I need to book a ride for my mom and aunt....
They will be staying at the Regal Sun near DTD.

Can you tell me if you have a favorite service. Do you have a favorite driver?

What do they offer... do they come right into the terminal for you holding a sign? Do they help with the luggage? Do they offer a grocery stop?

And a ballpark price for a roundtrip.....

Thanks!

We have not used any of them (yet), but if you want to do some looking, these seem to be the three car services that most people on here have used:

www.happylimo.com
www.tiffanytowncars.com
www.fltours.com

Each has pricing and information on grocery stops. When looking at the pricing, be sure to pay attention what each site is including and what are extra charges. I can tell you that for our upcoming limo ride for 7, the total price of all three (once you added in gratuity, tolls, fees, etc) was within $5 other, even though the initial prices you see were quite a bit different.

Most towncar companies offer a free 30 min grocery stop between the airport and your resort. The cost for a regular towncar is about $100, plus tip. You may find some rates as low as $90 and others as high as $120. This is for a 4 passenger Lincoln, not a limo.
Most companies have their drivers meet you at the baggage claim area, as you come down the escalator/stairs from level 3...they have a sign with your name on it.

Love Tiffany Towncars. If you want to make a grocery store stop, I think you're supposed to tell them when you make the reservation. On the way to a Disney resort, we've stopped at a grocery store which is next to a CVS. The driver waited while we went into both. I think there might have been a liquor store next to the CVS, too.

Check the website to see if it has a coupon.

Towncars are better than shuttle services if you are subject to

motion sickness.

(Couldn't resist - I just learned how to insert this smiley last night.)

Town Car Services of Orlando

I can't remember how I happened upon them - I had used some of the regulars for years and had a few so so experiences (late arrivals, hard to get ahold of, that sort of thing) and decided to branch out. I think I read some reviews on them and decided to try.

Actually I have not yet personally used them but have hired them to pick my daughter up from her apartment and take her to the airport. She has been pleased with them. They are downstairs when she walks out the door, pleasant ride to the airport and then they charge the credit card after they deliver her to the airport.

It says they do a grocery stop but of course I wouldn't know about that and that is not a service I ever used with any of the car services anyway.

We just used Wheels to Wings for a party of 7 (4 adults, 3 kids (8,7,7) and were very happy with their service. www.orlandolimos.com
We booked a stretch limo for $240 + tip round trip.

I hooked up my brother and his family with someone with an SUV (instead of a town car). My brother is demanding, and was very satisfied with the service. Send a PM to DISer Edd for more information.

We just used www.happylimo.com and they were great. We had a limo, but they have town cars. They upgraded us to a stretch Navigator on the return trip. R/T in a town car is a little over $100 not including tip. The driver had a sign, personalized for my son's birthday, and was waiting when we came down the escalator right in the baggage area. He waited with us and made sure we had the correct carousel. He grabbed our bags and brought us down to the car and was very professional.

Did you have to pay a non-refundable deposit with this company? I started to fill out the form and stopped when I got to that part. I have not taken the time to call them about this.
Thanks.

Nope -- I call them - give them the info and they charge me after they drop my daughter off at the airport. I have not filled out the online form before.

Tiffany towncar was horrible. We used them 2 years ago from portofino and they charged our card they weren't there when it was time;flipping out I called and they were extreemely rude saying it wasn't on schedule. I told her I had confirmed it the day before and she starts arguing with me. She said she would send car in 1/2 hour no way were we waiting we took taxi which was there. Then when we demanded redund for half trip they kept saying it was in mail. I threatened to call lawyer they sent me 40 (I had paid 110 round trip not including tip) DO NOT USE

Tiffany is under newer management. Their customer service was abysmal a couple years back. I used them last year and they were much better.

Ah yes....the famous Tiffany office person!!! Sorry you to deal with her. Many of us have had similar experiences.
I have used Tiffany many times, but with good experiences...at least as far as the drivers go. The office staff??? Miserable. But, that isn't the case any longer. Things seem to have changed, dramatically, there. With DME in existence, the towncar services can't afford to have nasty people working for them!!!

We've used Happy Limo twice to get to PC. Both time we were upgraded from a stretch to a big Escalade with a huge tv. The kids just love it!

I will be using them again in Oct.

I have deleted all references to banned companies. Anyone on this particular board, for more than 6 months, fully understands our policy. But, for those who don't know, or for those who have 'forgotten'....

There are specific board policies in place. If anyone, a private individual or company person, violates those policies, they are warned. If they refuse to adhere to the policy, then they are banned from posting here, as well as being discussed.

This does NOT mean that any banned entity has given bad service or broken any laws. They just violated DIS posting policy..that is all. But discussion of these companies is not allowed..in any way, shape or form. That is the ruling for the board owners. Please understand this. It is not open for discussion.

Although this company and driver is a very reliable transportation option it is not permitted to pick up at Orlando International Airport. It does pick up at the Kissimmee Amtrac station. Mears checker cabs, which this vehicle is one, are permitted to pick up at Disney, Osceola County and Orange County, but not within the city of Orlando, which includes Orlando International Airport.

Be aware...when Edd says the company is not 'permitted', I believe he means they do not have the proper permits that are needed to pickup previously arranged rides (as towncars for hire do business). I don't believe he means that they aren't allowed to pick up passengers there.
I have to say, in all reality, after reading the MCO official site....those companies that are 'permitted' at MCO, are supposed to be picking up ony prearranged passengers. At least that is what I take from reading it. They are not supposed to be 'trolling' for business, which we all know they do.

Di,

You read it right. If you are not permitted at the airport you cannot pick up, commercially, passengers at Orlando International. That includes everyone. If you notice the web site does not mention "meet and greets" at Orlando International. The company, a Mears Transportation Checker Fleet van, in question is not permitted there and so cannot "meet and greet" passengers. That company gets around it by subbing out the rides, he may receive, to other taxi drivers that work in the airport. This is normally taxi service and does not compare with the car service companies permitted at the airport. So beware, if you attempt to reserve the company out of the airport.

There is not much trolling for business anymore. The enforcement team at the airport has taken care of most of the trollers or gypsies.
