This fall we would like to take another trip to WDW, but can't decide if we should go October for MNSSHP or the last week of November for MCMCP? Our children are ages 2, 9, 12, and 13. We will definately do the alternative next year but can't make up my mind for this year. Any suggestions for my children's ages which they will enjoy more?

Thanks ,

Crissy

Oh boy, that's tough. I love them both. I also alternative but was fortunate enough to do both last year! :cool1:

I started with MVMCP in 2000 and did it again the following year and then finally tried MNSSHP in 2002. From there we alternated.

I'd give the edge to MVMCP because I LOVE Christmas time and I LOVE it at WDW. I love that time of the year.

But October/November also has great weather and low crowds and MNSSHP is the only place to see all the Halloween decorations and parade.

It's a tough call but I'd go with MVMCP this year!

Thanks for the input. I think I agree since my youngest will probley enjoy halloween more next year anyway.

Thanks,

crissy

Personnaly, if your kids like Halloween, I would vote for MNSSHP. I think your kids will love putting on costumes at the ages they are and trick or treating at the MK. The older ones may not be as in to Halloween in a year or two. I truly love the Christmas decorations and the parade at MVMCP, but I found it to be increadibly crowded when we did it last year. It may have changed, but when we did MNSSHP in 2003, we found the crowds to be very slim and we had a great time and loved the parade and fireworks. Also, the Halloween party was not as expensive as the Christmas party, although maybe that has changed, I have not checked lately. But I felt we got more for our money with the Halloween Party. I also love going to Disney in Oct. as the weather is warm enough to swim, if that is a factor, too. Nov./Dec. can be hit or miss on warm weather. Good luck with your decision, but I am sure you will have fun no matter what you decide to do!

These are both really good points. Yes my children LOVE Halloween. They still love dressing up. And you're right by next year they might not want to dress up anymore. But if my kids are anything like me (which I think they are) they will never out grow Halloween ; I still dress up.

The swim factor is a big deal for my dh. He tends to be cold blooded and even in a heated pool he likes it to be really warm outside before he'll swim.
Although at some point he'll have to take his chances because I really want to do the other party next year.

Ok so now I'm swaying twords MNSSHP. Oh this is a tough decision but I better make it soon so that I can get my reservations and tickets.

Thanks,

Crissy

I went to MVMCP and MNSSHP last year, and I definitely give the nod to MNSSHP. I loved dressing up and seeing everyone in their costumes - some are very funny and creative. And there is a "goal" to MNSSHP - to go trick or treating around the park and get lots of candy!! I thought MHSSHP had more atmosphere that was different than a normal park day. And alot more rare characters, of course!! :teeth:

MVMCP was OK, but I am not in a rush to return. Just didn't feel too much different than attending the park on a normal day. Didn't seem as festive, and there was no "goal" like in MNSSHP. I think kids get to partcipate more at MNSSHP, since they can dress up and trick or treat, while MVMCP has nothing like that. Some people wear Santa Hats, but that's about it! For my nieces/nephew, I think MNSSHP has far more "WOW" factor for them. :)

It is a hard one to choose but I think for the KIDS it would be MNSSHP. I, as an adult, loved MVMCP. But then again, it was sooooo much fun trick or treating as an adult. It brought back wonderful childhood memories and created some new. Christmas in WDW is beautiful and the Candlelight Procession made it for me. But like I said, for the KIDS, MNSSHP would be more fun for them. No matter what you decide......you made the right decision. You can't go wrong at WDW!
