Which time for the Safari?

For next week, we have two options: around 11:00 or wait till evening around 6:30 (after FOTLK).

Of those two... I'd go with 11AM.

But really, Safari will yield a unique experience at most times of day.
It is different every time you ride.

Try it.

I would definitely take the earlier time. It's one of the key rides the park offers, and if anyone gets tired and wants to leave early, you won't want to have missed it.

11 would be better in order to get more FP. During mid-day the animals may not be as active as they would compared to first thing in morning or at dusk.

That was my main concern - what time will the animals be most active. So 11 would be better than 6-7?

Each time of day finds different combinations of animals more prominent.
That was why I suggested to try riding at different times.

Yes I just don't know if we'll have time for multiple trips. We'll try though.

We went one year in November and went both first in the morning and at dusk. This past March we went at 2 since that was the time that worked best for our day. They may not be as much as a difference between 11 and 6 pm if you are going in summer due to higher temps and longer days...but if you are going in fall 6-7 is getting close to that dusk time (and I think its fun to go around sunset, it’s pretty being on the savanna)

If you are not doing Pandora, maybe rope drop it to get the first on morning and then do a FP for later? It’s in my top three rides at WDW so going multiple times is always fun and different!

I remember considering that on my first trip so went with a really early (unnecessary?) FP+. On other trips I made them at different times. I really think it makes no difference; it is the same enjoyable ride every time so choose the time that works best for you. For me, that would definitely be the 11:00am :)

We've done it first thing in the morning, midday and at dusk, and each time we have had great luck seeing animals, so I say pick the time that works best for your schedule. I personally would do 11:00 am, so you can use up your three FP's and get more.

I would say the earlier time. I love Safari and usually go twice. Sometimes 3 times. It is my favourite attraction at AK.
We always hit it at rope drop, get a mid-morning FP, and now we also add the Tiffins FOLK package every trip. We also get an afternoon FP on our 2nd AK day. This is my favorite ride at WDW.

We love this ride, we try and do it early then a FP for a bit later and again in the evening/dusk. Always see different animals out and about. I love being in amongst the giraffes just wandering around and seeing everything. Oh I can't wait to get back there this summer!

Agreed! if you can, do both times, if not, I'd recommend 11am - you'd be almost to that mid afternoon time when animals are lazing around but not quite.
