Hi all -

We're so excited to be heading to Disney in Feb. 07! I spoke with a travel agent this weekend who said that it was better to buy a 10 day ticket than a five day with park hopper option (we'll have five days in the parks) and that I could "park hop" by using days.

But, I think I read in the Unofficial Guide that you can't do this (park hop w/o the actual option....)

It's my first time to WDW, so I don't know all the lingo and rules - and I'm confused! We want the ability to do more than one park/day if we want to! What tickets do I get??? :confused3

Unfortunately your travel agent is mistaken. You can only hop from park to park if you have the park hopper option.

The myw ticket is sold based on the number of days not the number of park viists. Once you use a non-hopper in a major theme park it can only be used in that park on that day, you can however leave and re enter that same park. If you try and enter a different theme park the turnstyle will recognize that it has been used in another theme park and unless you have the hopper feature you will not be admitted.

If you want to go to more than one theme park each day you will need the park hopper option -

Here is a link to a FAQ should help with your ticketing decision:

If you want to park hop you have to have the Park Hopper option. I'm planning a seven day trip and only need to park hop one day and really wish I could just buy an 8 day ticket for a few extra dollars. No such luck.

This question is literally asked about every other day!

The answer is NO, you cannot use more than one DAY of your base ticket per day; the computer that controls the park turnstiles simply will not let you into a second park on the same day without the hopper option. If you want to park-hop, you MUST add the Hopper option to your ticket.

Unsolicited advice-Do not use this travel agent. Obviously, they are not very well-versed about Disney World.

If you want to use a travel agent, please use those that are Disney specialists such as Dreams Unlimited. There are other good companies who specialize in Disney also.

Now we were told that the begining of February ALL tickets will be given park hopper options for free. so save the money-- unless you are going at the end of February

Told by who?

One thing you can do is just buy a base ticket and see if you actually need a park hopper. If you do, you can add it on at any point before your ticket expires at WDW.

Not exactly "all tickets" this a special associated with a package deal. You must book the package as is during the dates specified. Even with the free hopper upgrade sometimes the packages end up costing more in the long run.

You can't just buy a MYW ticket in Jan/Feb and get the free upgrade.
