Which ticket to buy?

I have been looking at where to buy tickets for an upcoming day trip to Universal that my son and hubby will be taking during our stay in WDW.

Not sure which to buy... "Park to park" or "single park", its about a $50 difference and I wonder how much they will get done and what will really be worth the expense.

Any one done a day trip and able to give advice I would appreciate it.

If they are planning to visit after the new Harry Potter expansion is open and they want to take the Hogwarts Express, they will need a park-to-park ticket.

As to how much they can achieve in one day, it really depends on when they are visiting, what hours the parks are open and what their priorities are. It might be worth buying the express passes, if there are just two of them.

Express pass prices change with the projected crowds for the day.The higher the projected crowds, the more expensive the passes are .They can be purchased anywhere in the parks ( signs are all over the place).There are 2 different passes.One is only good for ONE ride per eligible attraction, the other is unlimited.The unlimited version is very expensive and very often( not always ) it is cheaper to stay at an onsite deluxe resort and get them as a perk for staying .

Express passes can also be purchased online but, unless you know that it is going to be a high crowd level day, it is worth waiting to see how busy the parks are before you buy. As the PP said, they can be bought at several locations throughout both parks.

If you were to book an onsite (overnight) stay, you would get unlimited express for everyone in the room for both check-in day and check-out day. If you have 2 spare days to vist, this and a 2-day pass might be a better option.

Thank you for the responses. We are not staying onsite, and that is not an option. Its just a one day trip for the thrill seeking 14 year old and Dad

I think I will end up getting my tickets at AAA, and then sending them with cash to buy the add on at the park, it might be worth it. We are going in August and I expect it to be busy, crazy busy!
