Which table service restaurants have good food at a cheap price?

I really need some help. I have a trip planned for July 11 through the 27th. I am staying at Pop Century and I booked it with an AAA rate. I am on a tight budget. I don't have an AP so I can't get any other discount. I have 10 day tickets with the water option. I thought about switching to August to get the free dining but I already paid in full for the plane tickets and already changed it once with a fee. It's not worth another fee to switch them again, because the rate for August is even higher than what I got the flight for.

We would really like to have a table service meal once in a while. Are there any table service meals that have good food, but are kind of on the cheap side? Are there any that 2 adults & 1 child can split?

I originally had the dining plan, but since I booked the trip in February I had to pay it off by May 27th and I needed more time to save the money. Going with the AAA rate the room was cheaper and I don't have to pay it off in full until I go. My tickets are paid for in full and 3 days are paid for.

I originally had 2 reservations, 1 for 6 days with the dining plan and the 10 day tickets and the other one was for 10 days with the AAA rate.

I have been reading postings on this site so I know there are plenty of counter service restaurants that seem to have big portions so I can split with the other adult and the kid's meals are cheap enough.

Any info will help.

THANKS

50s Prime Time Cafe is a great choice. Whispering Canyon Cafe is another good candidate. I've heard good things about the Plaza Restaurant, but haven't eaten there myself yet.

Wow ... table service and cheap price is really an oxymoron if I ever saw one. That being said, there is no such thing as a cheap price, for anything, at Disney. As far as table services go, you'll pretty much need to avoid all the ones in Epcot pricewise. One of our favorites that won't break the bank is lunch at Liberty Tree Tavern; their food is delicious. That's one thing about table service restaurants ... the prices are cheaper at lunchtime. Maybe you can find a decently priced restaurant (such as LTT) and have a late lunch there.

That's exactly what I was going to say. You can make a lunch ADR for 2 or 3 pm and have that as your "dinner", and just get a snack or a counter service meal later on. You could also share meals if you're not big eaters. Big eaters might prefer buffets for value. I think 50's Prime Time, Kona Cafe and Marrakesh are good values, too.

Beaches and cream is a table service on the DDP but is really more like CS in terms of the type of food--burgers, etc. It's relatively cheap as WDW goes--it's priced more like CS also.

Sharing works on the dining plan because you have the appetizer and dessert. Sharing just an entree probably won't be enough for 2. The buffets/all you can eat are among the cheapest, but of course there is no sharing. We like LTT and 1900 Park Fare.

There is a buffet at Ft. Wilderness that has had mixed reviews here. It is among the least expensive. We haven't been there for years, but it was good when we went.

I'm not one for sharing meals, but I do like a couple of buffets that are on the cheaper side. I really like the Trail's End Buffet at Fort Wilderness. They have really good fried chicken and a good selection of other items. Dinner gets you some hand-carved meats and the same ribs they serve at the Hoop dee Doo. At $12.99/8.99 for lunch and $17.95/9.99 for dinner it's a relative bargain. http://www.allearsnet.com/menu/menu_teb.htm If you go during the day you can also check out the petting zoo and the horse barn.

I also like the Biergarten, especially for lunch. Dinner gets you sauerbraten and a fish dish, otherwise it is the same. $15.99/7.99 for lunch and $20.99/8.99 for dinner. http://www.allearsnet.com/menu/men_ger.htm They have entertainment throughout the day. Book the latest lunch seating (4pm-ish ... ask the CM) and the hearty buffet should see you though the evening.

There's a lunch special at Chefs de France that I think is an especially good buy.

Not exactly what you'd call cheap, but the value is outstanding for lunch at 50's PT.

If you make it a late lunch, you can consider it a lunch/dinner and trust me, you'll be full for the rest of the evening. :)

The Plaza is an excellent choice too. Great big burgers, served at your table for a reasonable price. :)

We really liked the Plaza - but nothing in WDW is "cheap", however, we felt this was a good value.

I am a light eater and I never mind sharing meals because I hate to throw away food. I do not eat at the buffets because I am overwhelmed by the food. I take my kids to the character buffets but I do not eat. They are fine with that. I call an egg roll from Adventureland lunch :rotfl2: .

There are many restaurants that you can share meals at. When we go to 50's I order a bowl of chicken noodle soup and two of my three kids share a meal. They are lighter eaters as well. I also like Mama Melroses and we all share a meal there as well. If you eat at the CS at Pop order one large chicken strip meal and split it. It is really large.

Go to all ears.net and look at the menu's. They include prices and they have most for all of the restaurants at all of the parks. The portions are huge and I never feel weird sharing. I believe why waste the food or the money!

ESPN Club on the Boardwalk has great prices for a sitdown dinner, good food and a fun atmosphere.
