I asked this over on DCL but figured some parents here might also have some input and tips too.

We are in the UK and I usually have to order our sunscreen from California, Florida, Australia or South Africa because my DD is allergic to peanuts and we've found products from these extra sunny parts of the world work best for her and most do not contain peanut oil or cause her any type of allergic reaction as she has bad eczema. Anyway, the last time on the Magic we found a spray sunscreen that worked for us and we've used it ever since so it made me wonder which sunscreen others from around the world have found work best for their children (or themselves) especially in warmer/sweaty weather and when they are in and out of the pools. I find whatever sunscreen I put on her face, no matter how carefully, it always ends up running into her eyes once she's splashed in the water and this leaves her with sore red eyes, even when it says it's kind to eyes or sensitive. What's your sunscreen or sun protection routine for your little ones?

We tend to spend a lot of time outdoors. I burn easily. We have found the No Ad spray to be our favorite. It sprays on and doesn't need to be rubbed in and best of all, is not greasy.

I have recently seen it at Academy Sports and Walmart. Didn't check Target, Dick's, or anywhere else though.

Our family uses Blue Lizard products (usually the baby version). It's zinc oxide based, very thick, and coats my pale, freckled little ones beautifully! Their advertising claims it originated in Australia for Australian lifeguards. All I know is that both of my boys participated on the swim team last summer and were essentially as pale at the end of the season as they were at the start. This stuff works great for us! (I have bought it at the grocery store and drug store in the past, but it's getting harder to find there so I resorted to ordering from amazon last year.)

We try to stay away from all the chemicals. We use California baby ( quite expensive) or Badger ( less expensive then california baby) I usually tend to purchase Badger and find them on sale sometimes, but I like both for the entire family. They are extremely thick and give a very nice coverage.

I use California Baby for my son. It does cake on white! lol lots of our pictures he has a white face! But it works and no chemicals.

We use Coppertone Sport SPF 30 sweatproof lotion not spray

I burn easily. We have found the No Ad spray to be our favorite.

I also burn very easily and usually use No Ad. During our first trip I somehow forgot to pack sunscreen. There's a Walgreens in front of the hotel where we normally stay, so I ran in and grabbed some Walgreens brand spray on suncreen. It has worked really well for us. If I'm going to swim, I try to spray it on about 10 minutes or so before I get wet and then it won't get in my eyes.

Whatever is cheapest and can be sprayed on with no rubbing ;) We live in Wisconsin though so the amount of sun we get is just not as intense as places like Florida and none of us are fair skinned so we do not burn easily anyways. When we were in WDW I actually didn't use anything on any of us and we didn't burn, though it was February.

I use the ultrasun 50 on both my children. It's amazing you apply once a day and they have never burnt. It is for sensitive skin & my children have never had a problem with it. They have always come out in rashes when I have used other sun creams. My son also suffers eczema and this cream really helps improve his skin. We're based in UK and tend to order online from Debenhams or QVC.

Blue lizard here. My dd1 is very pale and has never burned (she's four). Dd2 is African American and unfortunately for her no amount of rubbing it will completely get rid of the whitish tint. Fortunately about 20 minutes after we put it on it absorbs. For faces I use the neutrogena baby stick

Another vote for Blue Lizard. I have the regular, the face, and the baby. The work great.

Feel your pain. While no peanut allergy, DS has eczema and DD has VERY sensitive skin. In fact, it was another type of sunscreen gave her a horrible chemical burn. So we've shopped around for the right sunscreen with help from our pedi dermatologist. I like Blue Lizard but while DD was great with it, it made DS break out in a rash. Anywho, after trial and error, we use 2:
* Vanicream sunscreen -- comes in sport and non-waterproof. Goes on very easily. http://www.amazon.com/Vanicream-Sun...396220165&sr=8-2&keywords=vanicream+sunscreen
* colorescience powder sunscreen -- this is AWESOME for hairline, ears, neck and general quick application. I got the rec from the Disneyland board and been in love ever since. Heard that the translucent can show up white on the hair so you're better off getting a nude color. I will also warn you to be careful about getting it near clothing as it can stain (it eventually came out) if the non-translucent. http://www.amazon.com/Colorescience...olorescience+sunforgettable+mineral+sunscreen

For us, we also use the brush sunscreen on hairlines, ears, etc. but we just use a generic Up & Up sport sunscreen and it is fine. We don't use it with the kids though to avoid inhaled chemicals.

Extra virgin coconut oil! Smells great and is great protection without any chemicals.

I use the ratings from the EWG's sunscreen/block list. Based off of that we use Coppertone Pure & Natural, no spray only lotion.

Alba Botanica Very Emollient sunscreen. We tried all the other natural ones and I either burned through it or it was too streaky, greasy or leaked into my eyes. We loved this one and use their regular fragrance free one on our DS. Works great, is natural and no animal testing :)

I love California baby, badger, and le be be coo. These are natural with no harmful chemicals or toxins for babies. I love le bebe coo because it comes in a wipe application. Genius!!!!

I have moms stop me at the zoo all the time and ask me about them as they wrestle their kids to put on sunscreen and I quickly and safely wipe my kiddos down from head to toe and off we go!

My daughter has eczema so our dermatologist told us to use aveeno natural protection (can't find it in stores, have to order it online). Works great and she doesn't break out from it. I also use the face stick on her and really like that. She's used to getting slathered in lotion so the lotion isn't a problem for us.

I use alba naturals, Burt's bee sunscreen stick, badger and cooper tone pure and natural. They all are low in chemicals.
