Which stroller?

We are leaving in 20 days - woo hoo. My DH and I have been going back in forth about which stroller to take for our 16 month old. He really doesn't want to lug around the big stroller (bigger basket, reclines, cup holder, etc.) but I think our DD will be more likely to nap in that than an umbrella stroller that doesn't recline. In all honesty I think the bigger stroller is easier to collapse but it will take up more space on the busses. Any opinions?

To be honest, I would take the stroller that reclines. I know how tough it is to lug those things on the bus, but they're worth their weight in gold when your toddler passes out in the park. Even on our last trip, when my DD was definitely only taking one nap a day, she sometimes dozed for 20 minutes or so in the morning or evening, and having the reclining stroller was a must. As for taking up room on the bus, crowds don't seem to be as bad the end of October, beginning of November, so hopefully that won't be as big a deal. My one tip: typically there's a gap by the seats that can be folded up to accommodate a wheelchair. If there's not any wheelchair guests on your bus, that's a great place to stash a stroller to keep it out of the aisle.

Have a great trip!

That is what we have done on past trips with my DS (3 3/4). I really don't think it is that bad. I will have to bring the subject up again.

We've done fine with DS with a unmrella stroller with some recline - Maclaren Triumph. He's been at 6 mo, 8 mo and 13 mo, and napped just fine in it. DNience also napped in the same stroller at 23 months. I would say full recline is not really needed for naps at that age. DS will not nap in a stroller at home, but no trouble at WDW. I would not be interested in lugging a big stroller around (but then, lots of times I'm there on my own with DS, so a big stroller is just not possible).

take the big stroller that your child is comfortable. The inconvenience of the bus is such a small small fraction of the day. You will be glad you have it when he needs a nap.

Agree. The time you spend on the bus is small relative to park time. iy's worth the hassle/

I vote for the big stroller. I was going back and forth withthe same issue. My son is 15 months old now and we are going in November. I will bring the big stroller for his comfort, and like somone else said, the time on the bus is so small compared to your childs comfort the whole day.

Yep, big stroller. I asked this same question when we took our 11 month old in Jan 07. We took our big Evenflo stroller (I think it's probably one of the larger ones out of Graco, Safety 1st, etc). It was bulky, and DID take up a lot of space on busses, and sometimes fit on the monorail w/out folding and sometimes didn't, but it was SO worth it. Gave us plenty of room for our stuff and DD was VERY comfy the whole time. Gave a nice place for naps and diaper changes, too. And provided her with plenty of shade.
