Alright, I know this has been asked a ton probably, but I was wondering what your advice would be for us.
We have a 3.5 yo and a 9 month old (at time of travel). I know the 3.5 yr old will need to ride at times and that will will want him to ride at times to keep him contained (he's a runner:rotfl: )
Here are our choices:
Maclaren Twin Techno
Peg Perego P3
Maclaren Volo (smaller umbrella stroller)

We heard that some people have taken 2 singles and their double. If youhave done this, how did it work at airport, etc? I know some people have shipped strollers down. How much does this cost?

We thought about all kinds of scenarios in what we should take, like, the whole family together, one parent with one and one with the other, etc etc...

Just wondering what you think......

I would bring the double Mac and be done with it. You can use the other side to hold stuff if your 3.5 year old isn't in it, plus you'll have both baskets. I wouldn't drag 3 strollers through the airport. I think you'll wind up wanting the double with you most of the time and the Mac is lightweight and folds easy (I have a Mac double too).

Take the Mac double. It's the perfect stroller for kids that age. We went last fall when my dd was 3.5 and she rode most of the time. IMO the 2 single stroller thing is a much better idea if you have a baby and a much older child. But, I imagine your baby will be able to ride most of what your 3 year old will ride so likely you guys are not going to be splitting up. We love the double.

My only other suggestion would be a sling for the baby. My fav, the Beco. Works great for baby holding in line.

I have a Mei Tai but that has too long of straps for WDW I think. It could be a pain. I am looking for a soft structured carrier to take. Do you think that would change what you feel about stroller/s ?

I think it would depend on a few things. If you are going soon (when it's super duper insanely hot) you are going to want to carry your little one less b/c you are all just going to be sweating like crazy. If it's in the cooler months it might.

The other thing it would depend on is how dedicated you are to carrying your baby. If you are comfy using the carrier most of the time, then a single stroller would be great.

We went to DL when ds was 7 mos and dd was 2.5. We took our mei tai and our Peg Pliko P3. I carried my dd in the sling 99% of the time. It worked perfectly for us. But the only double we had at the time was our Graco duoglider and there was no way we were traveling with that beast.

The last time we went dd rode in our double Mac most of the time and I carried ds in the Beco most of the time. He is really was not a stroller lover, although he is getting better. He prefered being in the Beco. However, if you already have the double, I'd probably still take the double. The double mac really is easy to transport and not difficult at all in the park. If you don't have the double I'd be more inclined to just take the Peg and carry your baby most of the time. When your not carrying your baby your ds can ride on the back of the peg.

Sooo many scenarios! I think it all depends on you!

Thanks for your input. I do not have the SSC yet, but we do have a double Mac already. There are so many scenarios and I just get confused when I think about hwat might happen if we had only the double and wanted the single(s). and vice versa. We are going in early Sept. for a week. So yes, hot usually.
He does like to be in the Mei Tai alot too. Decisions........:confused3

FWIW, I had no problems with the mei tai at DL. I didn't have a ssc then and didn't really know how to back carry. Now that I know how and now that I have one I love it the most! But, our trip with the mei tei (ok, I admit I took 2 of them) was great. The straps can be a pain but still not that big of a deal.

Take the Maclaren. we took it and it was so very easy to move around other people and get out of the way when the commando people are about to run you over.

We are headed to WDW next month with a 9 month old dd and a dd turning 5 while we are there. Older dd hasn't used a stroller in over a year, so we didn't buy a double, but if we had one, that's what I'd bring even now. We will rent a single on this trip for older dd and bring the Mac Techno for the baby. I am also bringing a solarveil mei tei for waiting in line with the baby. I wouldn't worry about the straps being too long unless you have a problem with it under other circumstances, in which case you might consider trimming them shorter.
