Will be going to DL next month (June 25-29) for the first time  and looking for some help on which performance to see. It will be showing at 12:40, 2:20, 4:45 & 6:20 on each of our 4 days in the park.
It will me, DW, DS12 & DD10.
Will each show be mobbed? Might any performance be easier to manage?
Also any recommendations on where to sit?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks,
CPC

The weekends shows will be more crowded since the parks will be more crowded. So I would skip the 25th and 26th. The best days will be the 27th, 28th, and 29th. Tues. and Weds. will most likely be the least crowded.

I would go to the first one of the day.

I really love to sit on the lower floor level but you will get a better overall view of the show, inc. the flying carpet, from one of the upper levels, at the rail.

If you have any younger members in your group (spoiler alert!) this is a part during the show when Jafar turns into a huge, red snake. He towers over the audience on the left side (as you face the stage). So if you are seated on the floor level, left side, be prepared.:scared1:

Have fun, I love this show! (I even bought the Cast CD years ago)

I'm pretty sure every show is a sell out, or close to it, so pick anyone you want. Personally, I think it is a fantastic show, so I would go to one closer to the start of your stay in case you want to go again. Each show is difference depending on which Genie you get. Of course, if you get the same Genie both times, then the shows would be pretty much the same. But still a lot of fun!!

I have sat in both the floor seats of the Orchestra section, and last time the first row of the raised Orchestra seats. To get either of these, I would recommend getting there 45 mins to an hour early. I liked them both, the higher seats allow you to see the parts where they are in the audience better, but with the close seats, you can really see their facial expressions, which I prefer.

If you get too close to the stage it's hard to see the carpet flying overhead (except from underneath.)

I tend to go on Fridays or Saturdays and they're both equally busy. I wouldn't worry about which show to go to. They're all busy at that time of year.

I'd suggest that you sit in the mezzanine section (the lower of the two balconies). It gives you the best overall view of the show. Plus you don't have to wait as long to get good mezzanine seats. Thirty minutes before show time is usually enough for good mezzanine seats. Maybe forty minutes if it's extremely busy. It's more like forty five minutes or more for good orchestra seats.

Then if you liked the show you can go again a couple days later and sit in the orchestra section (the lowest seats). That gives you closer views of the performers. The jokes change quite a bit if you get a different Genie so it's worth seeing more than once if you like the show.

Each set of seats in the theater has a separate line and they only open one line at a time. First they fill the line for the orchestra seats. Then once the orchestra line is full, they open the mezzanine line. Once the mezzanine line is full they open the balcony line. You want to avoid the balcony unless you enjoy looking at the tops of performers' heads. You have to be very late to end up in the balcony. If you want to wait for mezzanine when the orchestra line is open, you ask a cast member where to wait for mezzanine and they'll point you to where to wait. Usually there's ten or twenty people who are waiting for mezzanine. Then when the orchestra line closes they'll allow that group to be first in the mezzanine line.

The first time I saw the show I had a terrible orchestra seat and never even saw the flying carpet. It was still a fun show. It's not everyone's cup of tea but the most common opinion is that it's much better show than you'd expect.

Solving the problem backwords.

I'd suggest the 2:20 show. Mid afternoon is when attraction lines tend to be the longest. So while you are spending a lot of time watching the show, let other spend a lot of time standing in line for other things.

At the early show lines are shorter because people are eating lunch. The late afternoon show they are watching parades(well not DCA this summer). In the evening having dinner. 2:20 trying to ride ToT and Little Mermaid.
