The night we are visiting MK, there is no WISHES? :sad2: and the nights we can do it, we are spending the day at MGM or EPcot, so should we skip either Fantasmic or Illuminations to visit Wishes or stay at the parks we are at? So in other words is Wishes worth a special visit from and not see Fantasmic or Illuminations.

I think all three shows are great, but I wouldn't miss Fantasmic for any reason. IMO, it is the best show in all the parks. I would probably skip Illuminations for Wishes. If you are going to be in Epcot that day anyway, it wouldn't be a big deal to hop on the monorail over to MK before Wishes.

Why not just switch your days around? Illuminations is every night so there's no reason to miss it. Wishes is awesome. Try to make it if you possible can.

Whatever you do do not miss Fantasmic!!! That is worth the price of addmission to the park alone!! Wishes is cool also... Those would be my choices., but hey thats just me..

I did try and switch things around but it got complicated with the whole park hopper thing plus all of our ADR's made it complicated too :)

Good idea. Is is easier to go from Epcot to Fantasmic than Wishes? So I can skip Illuminations altogether even though we are at Epcot and go to Fantasmic? then the night we are in MGM we will go to Wishes from there or is it easier to do your original way?

dont skip any of them. as soon as fantasmic is over grab the contemperary bus, and get to the contemperary and walk to the mk in time for wishes. you will have an hour or so to amke it, you can do it. sit up high at fantasmic, it is still a great view.

We did both in 1 night. Wishes was being shown at 7pm. This gave us time to view that, then we took a bus to the Boardwalk and walked over to EPCOT to catch Illuminations at 9pm.

The scheduele I have for May came from the host of this board. May 5th, which is when we are in MK no Wishes is listed. Then we are having dinner at LeCellier on the 8th and we were going to go to Illuminations at 9:00. Then on the 9th we are at MGM for the day and were going to go to Fantasmic at 9:00 but since wishes, Fantasmic and Illuminations are at 9 I would need to skip. (MGM we were going to leave anyway and come back so to go to Wishes would work) Do you have a different scheduele were they are not all at 9:00?

I think Illuminations and Fantasmic! are both better than Wishes, but apparently Illuminations has been in 'disrepair' lately with the globe not working properly or something. This is just hearsay from around here though.

I thought Wishes was kind of weak to be honest. The fireworks were nice and I had a great seat in the noodle terrace at TL but it was just OK.

I personally think FOLK and Fantasmic! are the two Disney shows that can NOT be missed.

of course FOLK is during the day though so disregard that as it looks confusing.

Definately do your best to do all of them...They are all awesome...How many days are you staying in WDW? I also believe that Wishes is at 10:00, but that could just be in the summer....

I wouldn't miss WISHES! for ANYTHING ... can you do it on a night that Spectromagic is rolling??!!! Fantasmic! would be second ... so, if I had to skip one, I would skip Illuminations! :thumbsup2

We will be there that weekend too. May 5th is a grad night. But Sun 5/7 and Mon 5/8 are both nights that spectromagic is running. So Wishes is not til 10 those 2 nights. On 5/5 & 5/6, MK closes at 7 p.m. So you could hop to Epcot or MGM that night for Fantasmic (at 8:30) after MK closes.

So basically, on 5/5 when MK closes, head to Epcot and see Illuminations at 9.
On 5/8, after dinner at Epcot, head to MK, maybe catch Spectromagic at 9 and then Wishes at 10.
On 5/9, do MGM as planned.

A little back and forth, but I think getting from Epcot to MK or vice versa is easier than MGM to MK.

On disneyworld.com, click on calendar. If you check May's calendar, it gives park hours. Click on the underlined date in each square and you will get all the parade and show times for that day. :goodvibes

And if you go with my plan...we'll see ya at Epcot on 5/5.

While we enjoy all three shows, Wishes is by far our favorite. I made several itinerary sacrifices last December, just so that I could see Wishes at MVMCP and during the week. I love Illuminations too, but it's just not the same wow factor for me as Wishes.

If faced with the same question, I would say skip Fantasmic and see Wishes and Illuminations. JMO Maggie

Steph,

What is grad night? Is that graduation? Will the park be busy that day? We could not go that day since it is messing up everything but we have CRT breakfast reservations and CP reservations so it is possible will not be able to get new reservations at this point. Your plan is great except that 10:00 is pushing it for our age kids. I was thinking that since MGM is not all day for us and we will probably go back to our hotel, maybe that is the day we to to Wishes. (the 9th) On the 8th since we are in Epcot already, stay and do Illuminations. and on our Magic Kingdom day go to Fantasmic at 8:30. Do you think all that will work? Also is Spectromagic something we could miss given the switching we are doing right now? Do you think my plan will work? thanks so much!

Grad nights are a party held all night in MK for high school seniors from all over the country. You have to have a ticket from your school to attend. I think MK may get a little crowded that day. We have ressies at CP for lunch on 5/5 and then we are getting out of there. =O) We figured early morning would be okay....crowds are usually lighter in the early morning, and the grads who are planning on pulling the all nighter will probably sleep in that day!!! :thumbsup2

Spectromagic is a great parade. My DD and DS, who were 23 months and 5 months last year were enthralled by it. It runs on Sunday nights and Monday nights at 9 at MK. That is something your kids might like even better than Wishes...but your current plan sounds pretty good to me.

I would NOT cancel your CRT breakfast. It is highly unlikely you will be able to get another. They added lunch and dinner there, but breakfast is still the favorite, and fills up very fast. We are playing it by ear with grad nights, if we are at MK and it gets too crazy, we will just hop to another park. And like I said, mornings are usually not bad.

Fantasmic is a really great show, and I also love Illuminations. Illuminations is LOUD. We found the kids were fine if we just covered their ears before it started. :) Then they loved it.

Wishes is a really beautiful display. The plan you came up with sounds really good, especially if your kids would be done by 10 pm. Last year, our little guy snoozed in the stroller through Wishes.

MK, then hop to MGM on 5/5, then Epcot 5/8, then Wishes on Tuesday. Like I said, we love Spectro, but if it is easier to get to MK on Tuesday so you can see Wishes, go with that. :teeth:

I am so glad you mentioned about the Grad night thing. We are bummed about it though. We also have CP dinner reservations at 5:00 that day because we were planning on being there the whole day. I guess we have to play it by ear too. Thanks for all your help with this.

No problem, and don't be bummed about Grad night. Since it is all high schoolers, we are planning on doing the "big rides" early, and then hitting the little kid stuff. If you have small kids, that would probably work for you too. Also, I am not sure if they go into the park during the day, or if they have to wait until after 7 pm to get in and do the Grad night thing. :teeth:

If it starts getting crowded, just use the Fastpass and you should be AOK. You have dining ressies, and for us, when the parks are crowded THAT is our biggest concern.....finding somewhere to eat. You have that covered already.

Have a great trip!!! And if you see us (I'm a 33 yr old redhead, will have 2 strollers, an 11 yr old and DH with their crew cuts, my mom, and my sister, who will probably be bright red hehe) say HI!!!

Only 26 days more days!!! :woohoo:
