Which should I bring to the parks... collapsible cup with lid or flat pouch water bottle?

I drink a ton of water. We we go we get a case of water for the room. I start with a bottle in my bag on the way to parks. Then we ask for water all over the place. We have a fold up bottle that we can bring too and refill so there is always some water with us while going thru the parks.

We're bringing flat pouch water bottles. I get thirsty often and don't like the idea of waiting in a long line for a ride without having water.

Why do you wait in a long line? First, almost all QS places have it, even some of the kiosk/cart places, so it's pretty easy to find a place without a line. Even if there is one, frankly we just go right to the counter and ask for water. Nobody gets upset that we're "cutting in line", since we're just getting some water and leaving. Takes the CM 3 seconds to reach down and hand us a cup of ice water (they keep them in stock) and we're on our way.

I think they were talking about waiting in line for a ride without having water available, not having to wait in a long line TO get water. :)

This is what I'm thinking I might get (if I can convince my husband lol):

You can hook a carabiner to it if you want. You can buy a carrying case if you really really want to. It's a tad pricy- 21oz is $20.00 and the 12oz is $15.00. The picture above is the 21oz. Both sizes will collapse to 1¼” tall.

*ETA: Here's the specifications for the 21oz:
Weight 5.8 oz
Dimensions 4.25 x 4.25 x 1.25 in
Colors
Bluesteel, Moss, Chili, Grape, Tangerine, Charcoal, Opal, Rose
Volume
21 oz (600ml)*

*ETA: Here's the specifications for the 12oz:
Weight 4.7 oz
Dimensions 4.25 x 4.25 x 1.25 in
Colors Bluesteel, Moss, Chili, Grape, Tangerine, Charcoal, Opal, Rose
Volume
12 oz (350ml)*

I haven't committed to buying it but I've been really thinking about it for quite a while.

I like the idea of the pouches, but I haven't bought one because it seems like it would be hard to get them clean. How do you know they're not all yucky inside?

[QUOTE="Queen of the WDW Scene, post: 57334275, member: 585015"so I thought either a collapsible cup with a lid and carabiner or a flat pouch water bottle with carabiner would be a good alternative to the traditional water bottle.
I'd hang it from my purse when not in use.

I like that I could have water longer in the water bottle pouch but I also like how easy it would be to put the cup under the water fountain to fill vs the water bottle.

Which would you choose?[/QUOTE]

I like having water on me all the times if I can help it. You mention that drinking fountains don't bother you, do you mean specifically the fountains at WDW or are you speaking generally? Most of the fountains at WDW are straight taps, as opposed to the style of drinking fountain that goes through a refrigerated chiller that are more common out in the real world. The water from WDW drinking fountains always strikes me as warm and ... off tasting. The water they give you from a soda fountain is ice cold and has passed through at least a simple filter.

So, cup or flat bottle? ... What advantage does the cup give you over simply taking a drink from the fountain? You can take some water with you as long as you finish it before the next ride or whatever. Okay, can do that with a bottle then also seal bottle up tight and carry through a ride or whatnot. Cup is easier to fill in general, much easier if filling from a QS cup. But not really easier than the bottle if filling from a drinking fountain. If water pressure is low, the bottle may fill easier as it can lay on its side. If you plan on filling from QS cups, a small neck bottle would be a real pain.

There are wide-mouth collapsible water bottles. Some are the flat, envelope design, some are like regular short water bottles that accordion out to full size. Of the latter, the "que Bottle" or one by Skyyhi look interesting.

I've had many a drink from WDW water fountains directly and after filling a plastic disposable water bottle.
The temp does not bother me. In fact I'm not a fan of ice cold drinks.
The taste does not bother me. It's Florida. It's going to taste like Sulfur when not filtered. I can easily look past it.
I was thinking about a cup since it is wide and you don't have to be as precise with it as you do with a regular disposable water bottle but yes perhaps a wider mouth water bottle is the key.

Given those choices, I'd use the pouch. (I, however, choose my HydroFlask--love that freakin giant thing! Ice all day and zero condensation! Anywhoo....) I do find them pretty awkward to fill, and of course they don't stay cool at all (and like PP said, I never really trust Im getting them clean enough...) but they are darn light and handy. Love clipping them on my belt when skiing, which seems to be the hardest place for me to stay hydrated. Heads up, though, they will freeze solid when the temps are low enough....DUH!! It was a funny moment the first time that happened to me, but I bet you won't have that issue at WDW! LOL
