I am thinking of going to WDW in Sep. with my parents.. if free dining is offered! (just like everyone else!). My choices of dates (due to work schedule) are Sep 8-12 or Sep 22-26. Which would be best? Would there be a huge difference in crowds/heat? Me and my mom went 2 years ago w/ free dining in mid Sep (18-22) and it was pretty nice, but I am wondering if the earlier week would be better since many schools start up that week, and many parents would not take kids out of school the very 1st week! But maybe I am wrong! Anyone have an opinion? I would love to hear it!!!! TIA!!!!!

September 8-12 will be a little crazy with night of joy. Many youthgroups go for the weekend (like ours will). MK closes early both Friday and Staurday night. If you don't want to go to night of joy the crowds will be better later in the month.

we will go later in the month then! With my parents, it would be easier to have less crowds! And we will probably go early, take the afternoon break, then go back into the parks later.... so if MK is closing extra early on that Sat, it would not work out!!!!:cutie:

We went 9/11/05 and thought that the timing was wonderful!..We rode the buses alone and there never was a waiting line for any of the rides. I know that at the end of September you start getting into the MNSSHP crowd. Keep in mind, the weather in Sept can still be very hot (it was in the 90's when we were there) and humid. We did the parks in the morning and went back to the resort for lunch and lounging by the pool. We went back to the parks after the sun went down. I'd do this in a heartbeat again!

I think that the "rumored" last day of the free disney dining is Sept. 22. So I would let my travel dates fall within then.

I think the later dates would be more crowded if there is free dining, since some people, (me and DM included,) might book to stay through the begining of the Food and Wine Festival.

yes, we want to get free dining.... the Sep 22 check in dates would allow us to get free dining for our entire stay. When is the Food and Wine festival?

It starts on 9/28, which is the day I arrive. I was able to book free dining with the bounce-back promo in Dec, and 9/28 is our arrival day. :goodvibes
