New to the Board- becoming a bit addicted :stir: with the planning. So fun!

I am pretty sure we are going to stick with CBR- just made reservations yesterday and got a terrific deal thanks to info from this board :goodvibes

Any section/ rooms that are ideal for kids? Mine will be 8 and 9 at the time of the trip (December). I am HOPING we can swim in December, and would like to be close to the pool. The new pool looks fantastic! Will it definitely be completed by September? I would hate to get there in December and find it still closed for renovations :scared1:

Thanks!

We stayed in Martinique, bldg 25 on our last stay to CBR. This is a preferred section and will cost a little more. It is closer to the food court and main pool area if that makes a difference for you. I knew my kids would want to go to the main pool, more than the quieter pools, but my kids were 12 & 9 at the time. I've heard Jamaica and Aruba are nice, and only a short walk over the bridge.

I've been to Florida in December and it can go either way. One day it was 80, one day it was 60. Hard to say for sure. Happy planning.

I am sure they have allowed extra time in the construction for delays. I would doubt it would still be closed in December.

I'll also vouch for Martinique 25, as well as Trinidad North 31 -- photos from both our stays at those locations are in the links below.

Frankly, unless you're in Trinidad South, any of the villages are a short walk to Old Port Royale where the food court and main pool are located. We love CBR -- it's our favorite!!:cool1:

any of the martinique rooms are great! we stayed in 22, which isn't as close as 25, but by no means a far walk. it's a really pretty walk too, along the water, and past a beach. definitely spend the extra for a prefered location room. totally worth it! have a great time!! ;)

We stayed in the Aruba section and I really liked the location, because we were close the the bus stop and not far from the bridge that went to the food court. I was afraid that the walk would be too much for my neice (age 2) and my nephew (age 4) but they enjoyed the walk along the lake.
It was nice too because we were close to the beach so my neice and nephew could play in the sand and we could enjoy the hammocks.
Aruba 51 and 52 are not that far from the bridge.

We stayed in Aruba in 06. It was a nice walk across the bridges and island to the food court. Beautifully landscaped. Made me feel like I was really in the Caribbean. Would have stayed there this time, but with construction, decided to try somewhere different. Will Definitely be going back. Can't wait to see the new pool. It sounds amazing!
I have pictures from 06 below.

Last trip (12/06) we were in Jamaica - bldg. 43 - very close to the pool, short walk across parking lot to the bus stop, short walk to the beach with playground, and fairly short walk to the bridge to cross over the lake to OPR.

And we had towel animals almost every day. When we checked in, every room in Bldg. 43 had a towel Christmas wreath hanging in the window. :)

We were in Jamaica - building 46, and we loved it.

It was a short walk to the pool and Old Port Royale, and it was a super short walk to the bus stop which was so nice after a long day in the parks.

We were on the 2nd floor, and we could see Illumnations from our building - we watched it every night we were at CBR at night...

Thanks to everyone :flower3: - your replies have made me feel like CBR is the right decision. It sounds like a fantastic resort! I feel like my kids will love the beachy theme and the new pool. Since we are skipping the beach this summer to save for December in WDW, this will give us a bit of a beach feel!

You will have a great time at CBR. If you have visited the links in my signature you should take a look.

SafetyMom,

I did check out your links- very impressive! Thanks for putting together such great info for everyone :cheer2:
