Just wondering which rooms a family of 5 is allowed in. Youngest dd is 2 but won't sleep in a pack and play. I could take an air mattress though. Which rooms at akl and wl allow a family of 5. What about other resorts. I'd love a queen bed. The asm suites look good. Do discount codes come out for any of these for January.

We have 5 in our family so we know just a bit about this topic. We have stayed comfortably at Port Orleans, but the smallest person (under age 9) sleeps on a trundle bed. Our youngest has said it is comfortable. We stayed in a deluxe room at AKL which had a day bed and bunks for our three kids. It's larger than POR of course and more comfortable as children age (like ours). 5 people can stay at Poly in the regular rooms since they all have daybeds... and it's quite roomy. I think Wildnerness is where you'd have to get a Jr suite to have 5 people. We stayed at the ASM this past spring and got the family suite. We had a nice queen bed and our children took the couch, pull out chair, and pull out ottoman and were very comfortable. I think we're going to go again and stay at POR since our youngest now is still under the age of 9. It won't be as roomy, but we all get along and it's more affordable. Good luck and have a magical time!:wizard:

If you're willing to pay for deluxe resorts, I think there are quite a few rooms that sleep 5 at those resorts. The only moderate with room for 5 of which I am aware is Port Orleans Riverside with trundle bed. We've fit 6 in a FW cabin and loved the living room and full kitchen. You may not want to pay for the luxury, but you can fit 5 in a 2 bedroom villa at any of the DVC properties or easily fit into a 1 bedroom since you've got someone under 3 that you don't have to count. One bedroom villas are only approved for 4 people plus one under 3 in pack-n-play, but if you got a room with 2 doubles/queens? in the bedroom then you wouldn't need the pack and play as there is a pull out couch bed in the living room and there would be enough beds. (I wish you were permitted more than 4 in a one bedroom because I count beds for 6 if you're two people per double in a room with two beds in the bedroom... I guess they can't guarantee you two doubles vs. king in the bedroom. But I neither break nor make the rules. Though if your youngest is like ours, you could use a king bed for little one between you and spouse...) Just some ideas. I've never seen the 5 person deluxe rooms nor the new family suites personally.

If your daughter is 2 at the time of your trip, she doesn't count in the official Disney room count, so you can stay anywhere. You don't have to concentrate on just rooms that sleep 5. We're also a family of 5, we got to stay at AKL standard when my youngest was 2 cause she didn't count in the room count.

Now that she's much older, here's where we can stay in order of price:

POR-AB cheapest option
Value hotel 2 rooms
ASM Family Suite
Wilderness Campground Cabin
Then you move up to any of the deluxes. They can all sleep 5--most in a standard room. However, for AKL and WL you must get a deluxe room to fit 5.

:)

Oh...almost forgot other exception.....Swan only sleeps 4 but the Dolphin sleeps 5.

Have you ever stayed in a DVC one bedroom villa? There are only sleeping spaces for four people, except for some of the new one bedrooms at AKV which will sleep five. A one bedroom has ONE king sized bed in the master bedroom and one queen sized sleeper sofa in the living room. The AKV will have some that also have a twin sized sleeper chair. None of the DVC one bedrooms have anything but a single king sized bed in the master bedroom.

Each DVC villa will also have a pack and play for one child under the age of three.

To the OP: The Polynesian and Contemporary both sleep five in most rooms with two queen beds and one day bed. Plus they are close to the MK (only the monorail or a boat ride away). Most of the AKL deluxe rooms that slept five have been converted to DVC villas.

We have six and have only stayed at FW cabins. Next month will be our second trip.

The Family Suites at All Star Music will sleep 6 plus a child under the age of 3.

DH and I stayed in a Family Suite at All Star Music ( a value resort) in Sept. 2006.

We really enjoyed the Queen size bed, the kitchenette with the microwave, having a sofa and cushioned chair to sit on and relax after a day at the parks before retiring for the evening.

I thought the pullouts very comfortable.

They are designed so the back cushion and seat cushion of the pullout support the pullout. There is no metal bar to hurt the sleepers back.

Have fun at Disney wherever you choose to stay!:wizard:

The only ones I do not see are the Yacht Club, Beach Club, Boardwalk and the Grand Floridian.

Personally I have only been to Port Orleans Riverside, but my family enjoyed it.

Good luck!
