Which room would you choose at the Disneyland Hotel?

I just booked 4 nights at the end of January and got a great Disney Visa Discount. Travelers are me, DH and DD17. We have outgrown a standard room since our DD17 needs some privacy. These are our on-site options...

Disneyland Hotel - 1 bedroom family suite (2 queens, 1 queen sofa bed)
Villas at the Disneyland Hotel - 1 bedroom villa (1 king, 1 queen Murphy bed)

The villa is $350 more total for the whole trip. I am leaning towards the 1-bedroom villa, since it has 2 full bathrooms. I'm not sure about the bathroom situation in 1-bedroom family suites...I have seen some videos with a half bath and some with only 1 full bathroom.

Any thoughts or firsthand experience with either room layout?

Thank you!

I'd go with the Villas. They look so nice, and having the guaranteed second bathroom would be great.

We got upgraded to a one bedroom suite at the DLH during the renovation when they added the light up headboards. So we had an old style room. We only had one full bath. We were in the fantasy tower.

We went and checked out the lobby, pool and bar area of the new DVC tower and it was absolutely gorgeous. I would love to stay in a room there!!

I'd go with the villa both for the second bathroom but also the bed. I am guessing (based on my teens and your post) that your DD will be sleeping in the other "room". I think the murphy bed in the Villa will probably be more comfortable than the sofabed in the suite. Generally I don't mind the daybed style sofabeds at the DLH/PPH and have slept on them myself, but I think in this case it will be a more traditional pullout sofabed which can be more hit or miss, especially depending on the condition of the mattress (though I have not experienced them specifically at the DLH).

Plus the villas are brand new and beautiful!

We've stayed in both. Go with the Villas. The extra full bathroom is nice! There are a few
1 1/2 bathroom 1BR suites in the DLH, but not many and it's the luck of the draw, most of them are 1 baths. You also get a full kitchen in the Villas, which you don't get in the DLH suites. The Murphy bed is more comfortable than the sofa beds.
I've been wondering about the murphy beds. Are they easy to set up? Do they feel more like a real bed than the sofa beds?

Very easy. I’m a 5’2” female with basically no muscle strength (loll) and I find them very easy to pull down / put back up. The mattress is a real mattress and is very comfortable.

I’d definitely go with the Villa for the extra space, 2nd full bath, and the Murphy bed.
