I am going on the cruise next summer and plan to come to disneyland before hand. We want to stay at grand californian and wondered which view is the best? Also how many days would you allow for DL:confused: This will probably be the only time we ever go so I want to make the most of it. Thanks for any suggestions.

Ideally, I would allow 4 days (or more) to do both parks.

Not sure about the GC question - we haven't stayed there yet but plan to in October.

Allow 3-4 days to see Disneyland & California Adventures - we never see it all and then we say we have to go back to see the rest :rotfl: We went to Disneyland 2 years ago and then went on the Magic to Mexico - great plan but don't waste your time on land seeing the characters as they are all on the ship in lots of different costumes. We stayed at the Grand Californian in June and had a corner room over The World of Disney so we looked into Disneyland, down into Downtown Disney and around the corner into California Adventure  I think our favorite view was Disneyland as we could see the fireworks from our balcony. California Adventure was nice at night if you like lights and Downtown Disney always had people and music going. :dance3:

We've had both a DD and theme park view and I think we preferred the DD. Although the majority of days we were in Disneyland til closing, the one night that we got back early, it was a nice change to be able to view the fireworks from our balcony.:thumbsup2

We have stayed in all views. They are all wonderful! The Downtown Disney view is fun. At night, you can see all that is going on with people, lights and the musicians. When you close your sliding glass door you don't hear a thing (this is the case for all rooms). The Grizzley View is of DCA where Grizzley Run and Soarin is. It just depends on where and how high you are as to what you see. You can also see the monorail go by. The pool view is just that as well as seeing Paradise Pier. There is also the Paradise Pier view. There is a grass area below and the Paradise Pier with all the lights at night. It's really pretty. The court yard is pretty with all the trees and the monorail goes through there as well. I guess it's also how much you want to spend. Each view is a different price.

We spend 5 days and this tends to be good. We can take our time see the parks, going on rides and make reservations at different restaurants each day and take a tour. It just depends on what you want to do. Sounds like you are in for a wonderful trip!!!
