I wonder if anyone could tell me what the difference between the rooms are at the Sequoia Lodge, do all the lake views have a balcony? and is it worth paying the extra cost? also, is it better to have a standard or Montanna room? We have always stayed at the Cheyenne, but my daughter was disapointed when we went in january as the Chuck Wagon cafe no longer has a childrens play area, so we went and had a look at the Sequoia and loved it, so, have decided we would like to stay there next time.

Not all the lake view rooms have a balcony - in fact I think there are hardly any. The lake view is an upgrade I might consider, but I would definitely consider an upgrade from a standard to a Montana room. Particularly in winter when it means you don't have to walk outside from your room to get to the restaurant for breakfast etc.

Hi Stefanie,

We stayed at the Sequioa Lodge a couple of weeks ago and paid for a Montana room and we were really glad we did. It was far enough to the breakfast as it was without being in a faraway lodge :rotfl: We did not have a lake view and I think at this time of year it would not have been worth it as it was dark pretty much all the time we were at the hotel so a view would have been wasted on us! We went out all day, didn't spend much time there at all.

It may be a different proposition in the summer though!

We are staying at the SL for four nights in July and have booked a standard room. We probably would have gone for a Montana room if it had been winter to avoid having to go outside to get to breakfast but we're hoping for good weather when we're there! Apparently the only difference in the actual rooms is that the Montana rooms have a minibar, and as we're taking 3 teenagers that could have worked out very expensive :rotfl: I did consider lake view rooms but as there are 5 of us going it was going to cost an extra £150. I think it would have been worth it if we were guaranteed balconies, but as few rooms seem to have them we decided the money could be better spend on other things.

Thanks everyone, I'm hoping to go in may when the weather should be good, do any of you know if I could request a particular room (eg. with a balcony)? my daughter (age 9) likes to go back to the hotel after lunch to have a break, draw, play with toys etc, which can get a bit boring for me, so, obviously it would be a big advantage and well worth the extra cost,to be able to sit on a balcony for a couple of hours every afternoon(and when she's in bed, bottle of wine etc. difficult to do that when theres just the two of us). I did email Disney to ask if that was possible, but they are too busy to reply at the moment! we've stayed at the Cheyenne 6 times now and love it, but would really like a change, but as i'm on a budget I would like to be sure that it is worth paying the extra, also, the lack of the childrens play area at the Cheyenne now made entertaining my daughter in the evenings difficult, I think meeting up and running riot with all the other kids was a real highlight for her, and good for me too. Also nice to see kids of different nationalities playing together without the need for a common language.
