Which roller coaster is more intense?

I do not like RnRc at all mostly because of the initial takeoff...I'm not crazy about the rest of it either. So tell me is EE more "tame?" I like SM and Big Thunder. I have one week to decide if I can handle it...

You can totally handle it. It's nothing even close to RNR. Much closer to Space Mountain actually. Not a problem.

I also don't like RnRc, been on it once, never again :teeth: .

We went on EE three times over the last two weeks, myself, DS15 and DS10 loved it. DH only went on it once, although he thought it was a great ride, he had motion sickness.
It's a great ride, it isn't as tame as SM or Big Thunder (which I also love), but It's worth trying at least once. I think if you enjoy SM and Big Thunder, you will probably like EE ::yes:: .

Someone described EE as Big Thunder on steroids. I think that's an accurate description. It's a little worse than Big Thunder but not as bad as RnRC.

Does your head bang around alot on EE? I noticed the last time I was on RnR and we were sitting in the back, my head banged around ALOT. It was rather intense and I don't care to ride it again (RnR used to be my favorite ride).

Just wondering if there's a spot to sit in that's better: front or back?

The reason you get head banging on RnR is because of the over-the-shoulder restraints. There are just lap bars on EE and no head banging.

I found the backwards part a little intense (in a good way, I love roller coasters!) but it's over quickly.

I preferred the front and my DD liked the back, but really, any seat is good.

Mine didn't, but then again it doesn't on RnR, either. Make sure you keep your head firmly against the headrest and you won't encounter that problem.

EE is very smooth, however ride does seem to depend on where you are seated. Up front I thought it was nothing. In back, I did get thrown around a bit. THe backwards section was the worst for banging around, and it was when I was seated in the back that it was worse.

I didn't have any problems like that on RnRC, but that's a different ride really. I'd equate EE to a smooth BTMRR.

The analogy that jmcross made seems accurate. It was a little more intense than BTMR. I made myself finally try some of these coasters that I usually don't go on. I will never go on RNRC (???) again mostly b/c of the take off. My kids and DH love it. They said EE was way too tame. I love BTMR. I've only done EE once, and I would do it again. It takes me a couple of times to know if I will like it. I say try it.

Another reason why your head might have been banging around is because in the back you get whipped around more, it's usually a more intense ride in the back.

The front is usually a less intense ride, so I'd try and sit closer to the front.

We had a rollercoaster at a local park (Kennywood Park) a few years back that had the over-the-shoulder restraint. My head banged around so bad on that ride. I would push as hard as I could back against the head rest to prevent it but the ride was just so intense that I wasn't strong enough to prevent it. Riding in the back was worse. I like wild rides but I don't like a head-ache afterward! lol

I went on Rockin' Roller Coaster 2 times (I think - I'm always pregnant when we go so I don't ride) and we were close to the front and my head did not bang. Now I'm scared to sit near the back though!

I experienced lots of head banging on RnR. I kept my head firmly seated against the headrest but still got banged around a lot, and I was sitting in the front.
EE was smooth by contrast. I really enjoyed it. Most coasters are smoother in the front, EE is no exception. The front is also the most dramatic seating visually of any coaster I've ridden, with the exception of Dueling Dragons :)

I do not like RnR at all ~ I had done it years ago & knew I didn't like it, but was talked into going again last Spring. The minute we took off I definitely remembered why I didn't like it!! Never again.

Just returned a few days ago from a short trip. First time to do EE for me -my daughter had made 3 trips to Disney in the last few months and had ridden many times -- she assured me I'd *like* it. I loved it :) It's now my favorite of the coasters. We were there first thing in the morning ... got in line - there was a slight delay in opening, so my daughter went to get FPs while I waited in line. They opened about 9:05, we got on right away; walked out & got right back into the fast moving line ~ so, by 9:30 we had gone on twice. Returned an hour later and rode again.
So, if you aren't a fan of RnR don't let that stop you from going on EE. I would guess that the only time it may bother you is on the backwards ride in the dark.

My only *complaint* is that EE is far too short a ride! I also was surprised at how quickly you get to the Yeti at the beginning of the ride - thought it would be a bit more 'into' the ride.
But it's great and lots of fun :thumbsup2

There's a coaster at Kings Island in Cincinnati that is much like RnR. It's inside, is launched at the beginning in the same way and it goes upside down. Originally it also had over the shoulder restraints. I remember my head banging around A LOT. I never got off that coaster without a headache, no matter what seat I sat in. Then, a few years back, they replaced the restraints with a new kind of lap bar system, except it isn't just a bar, it's a whole big plastic form fitting restraint that comes up to your chest and holds you down quite firmly. Now, it's one of the best coasters at that park. No headaches anymore because there's no restraint next to your head for it to bang on. I really think Disney should do the same thing with RnR and replace those over the shoulder restraints.

UGH. I did not like EE or RnR. But I am not a huge coaster fan.

I love BTMR. We went on it 5 times. Same with Splash. Space is too jerky IMO. (better at DL)

I found RnR too intense with all the upside down parts.
I found EE to 'discombobulating' with the backwards part. Got off and my head felt all dizzy and funky.

I will not ride either again. But my 8 year old son loved RnR!!

I don't like RnR because I feel dizzy after riding it. I guess I can't take the loops. I went on EE and it is tamer than RnR, but more intense than Splash, Space and Thunder Mountain. I liked EE, but didn't like the backward part of the ride. My head felt a little funny after the ride, but it only lasted a few seconds. I guess it didn't bother me too much because I ended up riding it again later in the day.

My head gets banged around in RnR my DH does not. EE is much tamer I love it nice and smooth.

My husband & I will be taking our mothers to Disney in two weeks. We were wondering if they would be able to handle the EE. My mother has to be very careful about jerky rides or sudden stops as she has somewhat brittle bones. I have riden Runaway Railrod and found it to very jerky and such, is EE like this or is it a smooth ride that just goes fast? I am also questioning whether to have her ride Space Mountain as it does some jerking also. Please let me know what you think. :confused3
