Which rides are scarier than Universal Studio's Revenge of the Mummy? (California)

Last year we went to Universal Studios in California. I was scared to, but my husband wanted to ride on the Revenge of the Mummy ride. This little boy in front of me was very sweet and kept telling me how fun it was and how not scary it was. So I did it and it was freaky, but I enjoyed it and I didn't die. This ride seemed pretty fast and it also went backwards.

So I was wondering, if you've been on the ride, how do you think it compares to some of the Disney World rides? In particular, the ones that are "scary" such as Rock 'n Roller Coaster, Expedition Everest, and other ones. I don't want to be a wuss and miss out on good rides (I skipped Space Mountain at Disney Land ), but at the same time I don't want to be really scared on the ride wishing it would hurry and be over. Or just feel gross at the end.

Please only respond if you've been on the California's Universal Studio's Revenge of the mummy ride.

Can the Mummy ride in Orlando count?

If so, then none are scarier. Maybe only the Dueling Dragons in the front row for the first time but that's it!

There is nothing scarier then Revenge of the Mummy in Universal Orlando. WDW rides are either for families or thrill rides...without the scary dead people ...The scariest ride that comes close in WDW is TOT or the Dinosaur ride at AK because it is dark and things pop out at you... like Revenge of the Mummy.

Nice, maybe I can handle Expedition Everest and Rock n' Roller! It was scary in the mummy ride when it went backwards. I heard that's what happens in the Everest ride.

The reason I asked about Cali's Universal ride is because I don't know if it's different than the Orlando one.

I don't think that EE or RnR are at all scary. Nothing is really designed to try and scare you, unlike the Mummy ride.

If you think the mummy popping out at you is scary, then there is a giant dinosaur who does that on Dinosaur. But in terms of the actual ride, I don't really know. I think The Mummy makes the roller coaster part seem more mild because of how the vehicle that you ride in is set up. I would try Expedition Everest and Rock 'n Roller Coaster because they really aren't too bad and they're a lot of fun. I would build up to them maybe, though, by starting with Space Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain because they are somewhat milder.

I went on the one in Orlando and California and they are both the same but I would say Dinosaur is with the Mummy ride. That ride everytime I go on it I still jump at certain scenes. But I can't think of any other one except TOT because each time is a different ride.

IMO, I don't think Dinosaur is even remotely scary. The scariest ride for me at WDW is TOT, but even then- there's no way I am not going to go on it!

I guess I am just a wuss. I was scared to go on Thunder Mountain at Disneyland, but I did go on it. But of all the rides I rode on at Disneyland and Universal Studios, Revenge of the Mummy was the scariest. It seemed like it was the most intense. I was too scared to go on the Jurassic Park ride. I think I heard that EE has a big 80ft drop or something, is that right? I've heard a lot of good things about RnR. People are saying that it's pretty smooth and it's a rollercoaster for those who hate rollercoasters.

I've been on Revenge of the Mummy at Universal and didn't scare me at all - however Tower of Terror did and still does - its that feeling in your stomach that I hate (not the ride) and that you are in the pitch dark and then you suddenly drop - gets me everytime!! Doesn't stop me going on though!!

ROTM is pretty intense the first time, yes. Other than that, there isn't anything scarier (IMO) at WDW (and this is coming from a teenager!). The ride is only a bit different b/w USH and USO, but, from what I've heard, the USO one is slightly better than USH. The JP ride honestly isn't bad, just one drop. Half the time, you don't even get that wet (unless you're in the front row!). Just the one big drop, and it's not that scary (unless you go on at night. Again, I heard the USH has slightly better effects than the IoA one). Going to WDW again in August (first time since '03) so we'll try EE!!

I totally loved the Mummy Ride in Orlando - although I only rode it once and that was because the water they sprayed made my hair stink!!!

I love ToT but hate it at the same time - in my opinion it's a really thrilling ride but scary and lovable!! Dinosaur is practically one of my favourite rides - I'm sure I've been on it when it's been bumpy and then another time when it was even MORE bumpier - is that possible?
