This is inspired by momrek06’s Red Robin thread.

Are they any restaurants you’ve enjoyed while traveling that you wish you had at home?

We’ve always liked Sonic when we’ve eaten there when we’re traveling, but there are no Sonic’s near the Twin Cities! I would guess that the Sonic drive-in concept is incompatible with our winters!

So what do you wish you had near you?

Hey great idea for a THREAD!!!! :thumbsup2

JOHNNY ROCKETTS  !!!!!!! The family loves this one as well!!!!

NONE in South Central MA that I am aware of???? Not even sure where the closest one is??? They have one in the MOHEGAN SUN Casino  but that is over an hour away from us!

SONIC!!

Sonny's

Captain George's: BEST seafood buffet ever!!

I wish we had a Bucca di Beppo near us. I'd also like to have a Magianno's near us. I like Bucca's concept of serving everything family style. The food is good and reasonably priced.

As a trade off, we have MANY home-grown Italian restaurants near us that far exceed the food quality of BdB and Magianno's.

I wish we had a Marble Slab Ice Cream near us. DH and I wanted to open a franchise here, but they were only allowing them in TX when we inquired. I'd also like a Taco Cabana. Better food than Taco Bell but still fast food.

Sonny's BBQ. We ate there the last few years when we drove to Florida. I would love to have one here. :cloud9:

I wish I had a Boston Market closer to me, and a Skyline Chili or Goldstar Chili.

Bucca, Famous Dave's (BBQ) and Caribou Coffee are a few of the establishments that originated near us. So, when I'm feeling sorry for myself because we don't have Sonic or Del Taco, I have to remember that we do have some great choices here!

 In N Out Burger!!

I miss IN-N-Out. In Vegas we went at least once a week!

I also wish we had Rainforest Cafe. Love that place.

Sonic--we had three in our town when I lived in New Mexico. I really miss having a Sonic close enough for a Cherry Lime run.

I also miss Blake's Lot-A-Burger and any of the zillion family owned mexican restaurants in New Mexico. Mexican food in Michigan is just NOT the same. I miss my green chile and I'm forced to make my own enchiladas from scratch. :teeth:

Alberto's Robertos,Erilberto's . Any of the bertos chains in San Diego..Carne asada,Chimichangas...... Oh I'm hungry now

house of blues!!!!

we just got a bj's down the road from us-they are awsome!

i also like carrows-they offer coffee shop stuff but also nicer stuff so it would be a good place to take the kids for dinner.

We have a lot of Sonic's near us. Here- I'll make a deal with all of you Sonic lovers. I'll keep a Sonic, and I'll hand out the rest. One goes to brownbear (OP), another to disneygirl, and the last one in town to NMAmy. Happy now? :)

Mazzio's Pizza :thumbsup2. It's kind of a Pizza Hut-like chain, but smaller and better. Every town in Oklahoma (where I grew up) has one, but for some reason we don't have them around here. There aren't a lot of sit-down pizza places anymore :(.

Gosh...we have almost ALL of those restaurants mentioned here. :goodvibes
Benihana was always a favorite of ours and we have one here now. So I can't think of any off hand. :confused3

oh...Prime Time Cafe :rotfl:

Well, if I'm really dreaming, Le Cellier.

Other than that, I'd love to have a Chipotle on this side of town.

wow, I feel pretty fortunate so far we have Johnny Rockets at Cedar Point, a few Bucca de Beppo's, tons of boston markets... I'll share :)

I wish we had Rainforest Cafe... I was thinking LeCellier too :cloud9:

Bucca's and Sonic are both on my list! We do have a Bucca about an hour away, which isn't bad but no Sonics for HOURS! We have a great drive-in less than a mile down the street. They have better burgers than Sonic but no cherry limeade :sad2:

It does give us somewhere to look forward to eating when we travel though and let's face it, we have a 2 mile area here that has the most restaurants in that radius than any other 2 mile radius in the country (at least we USED to have the record - not sure if we still do!)

Joe's Crab Shack
Nearest ones are either 3 hours north or east.
Sometimes, you just gotta go on a road trip!

Crackerbarrel for us. We really enjoy it when we're on the road. The closest one is over 75 miles away.
