We are looking for two nicer, upscale places to dine for dinner and two casual ones for dinner. The two nicer ones have to be in either DL park or CA park or any of the three disneyland hotels. I will be on a business trip and they are paying for those two but we can pick where we dine. Then we are on our own for two nights, still on DL property but can include Downtown Disney

We are going in May, Blue Bayou will be closed, that is the one I really wanted to try

Thanks

Upscale: Napa Rose@ GC
GranVille's@ DLH
Golden Vine @DCA
Hooke's Point@DLH
Casual: Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen@DTD
StoryTellers@GC
Rainforest Cafe@DTD
Quick service:
Bengal BBQ@DL
RiverBelle@DL
Taste Pilots Grill@DCA

Hope that helps!

We really enjoyed Rainforest Cafe in Downtown Disney. The food was great and the atmosphere and service was excellent.

I'm going to the Vineyard Room in DCA on Sunday...I'll report back as soon as I return :thumbsup2

Napa Rose is rated one of the best restaurants in california, but with prices to match - go if you can afford it.

Vineyard room gets good reviews.

We ate at Blue Bayou and loved it. A bit crowded and loud, but the food was amazingly good for what is essentially a tourist theme park restaurant.

Rainforest cafe is a fun night out, and again, with surprisingly good for for a theme restaurant.

I can't remember the name of the place, but it was in DTD. There's a circular bar outside and the resturaunt is right next to it. You can either eat inside or outside on the porch outside. We went on business in May and the weather was perfect! It was excellent, IMHO. The cuisine was very fresh and Californian. My coworker is EXTREMELY picky, and she even liked it. She had the roasted chicken with garlic french fries. Man, those were good! Oddly enough, i can't remember what I had. I know we had scallops and escargots for appetizers. The wine was VERY GOOD. (Probably why I can't remember what I had for dinner! )

Thanks everyone

Napa Rose sounds like the one to try since work is paying for it

Rainforest, we have one at our local mall, not interested in it since we go there at home.

The steakhouse sounds like a good option too
tink38 - if you remember the name let me know.

My Favorites:

Granville's
Hooke's Pointe
Napa Rose
Vineyard Room

You're thinking of Catal Restaurant & Uva Bar.

I would recommend Napa Rose, by personal experience and reputation, and Catal Restaurant, by reputation.

Napa Rose has an extensive and fine selection of wines with excellent food to go with them. Service was excellent and they were very accommodating with the particular needs of the Vegans in our group. Certainly worth a visit.

Catal Restaurant is part of the Patina Group of Restaurants which has a very fine reputation amoung foodies. Joachim Splichal is the head of this group and founding Chief with his L.A. restaurant, Patina, which for years was the #1 restaurant in the Zagat guide for L.A. Splichal is not the chief at Catals but I've dined at a few of the Patina restaurants and found them alll to be excellent. They take their reputation in the culinary world very seriously. Catal's is located in DTD which I know was not what you asked for but it's very close to the parks and only steps away from the Grand California hotel which is where Napa Rose is located. Here's a link to their menu: http://www.patinagroup.com/cgi-bin/...roup.com/menu/catal/dinner.swf&LinkName=Catal

I highly recommend Catal, too. Lovely meal. Fresh, delicious. Great wine! ANd sitting outside--people watching--perfect! :sunny:

While Napa Rose is rated one of the best restaurants...it is absolutely one of the worst we have ever eaten in. Service is good, atmosphere..nice, but the food needs a lot of work. We don't mind paying the high prices for great restaurants but Napa Rose is highly over rated.

Hookes Point on the other hand..I would go there, and don't forget to make a stop in the cellar before or after..what a great place.

Yup, I just figured it out! Thanks! We had the Catalan Plate, the escargots and the scallops for appetizers. I had the paella, but I wasn't that impressed with it. The pistachio crusted pork chop was MUCH better.

Enjuy!

We are eating at Hooks point on the last night of our stay as a farewell dinner

We're going next weekend and I made reservations at Yamabuki at the Paradise Pier Hotel, and Hook's Pointe at the DisneyLand Hotel. Last time we mostly ate at the restaurants at Downtown Disney. Catal was probably my favorite. I was also hoping to eat at Blue Bayou this time, but now it will be an excuse to go visit again!!
