My husband and I will be at WDW and will be coming to US/IOA for a day..we have been there once before and loved it..however, we only got to eat lunch at the hard rock hotel...for dinner we just had a couple of margarita's at Margaritaville..which we both loved..We would like to have dinner at US/IOA this time around..I've seen several restaurants on the website..what are your suggestions and why?..thanks a bunch

It would help if we knew what type of food/atmosphere you were looking for. If you want a great expensive dinner, I recommend Emeril's Tchoup Chop at the Royal Pacific Resort. Wonderful service, atmosphere and food. One of my favorites is Mythos in Islands of Adventure. The atmosphere is one of a kind and the food is fantastic.

We ate dinner and lunch at Margaritaville on our recent trip; great time altho some of the food is better than others--like great crab cake sandwich, but so-so coconut shrimp. We also enjoyed the Hard Rock Cafe, but it's very noisy! Very loud music, which makes for difficult conversation. My favorite place we ate was Mythos at IOA. Quiet, very different looking inside and the food was outstanding. I had the risotto of the day. If you want a less expensive meal, my favorite was Thunder Falls Terrace. It's a cafeteria, but it's pretty. The chandeliers have cut-outs of dinosaurs and there's a neat ceiling and lots of windows; doesn't feel like a typical cafeteria. I had a salad with roasted chicken and key lime cheesecake--yum!

Can anyone tell me about Mythos..I got on the IOA website but it doesn't really say much..Do I need to make reservations for this restaurant or can you walk in without much of a wait?..

It never hurts to make a reservation. We have always just stopped in the morning and made reservations for dinner that night. It depends on the time of year. They close early when the parks close earlier and aren't always open for dinner.
The food at Mythos is very creative. They do a wonderful job of combining different tastes. We have had fantastic seafood, pork, risotto, and sandwiches there. The warm, gooey, chocolate banana cake topped with peanut butter ice cream is OUTSTANDING!!!!

You can usually just walk into Mythos and there will be a table open. My daughter and I went at noon on a Thursday and there was no wait, even got a window table.

The Wrap of the Day is amazing, I had it again on this trip and it was soooo good.

Here's my Mythos page to see.

We had dinner at Hard Rock Cafe and the service was just ok, but the food was great. It was one of the best meals we had on site.

we just came back yesterday and our best meal this trip was at NBA City. we had buffalo wings, ribs, and stuffed chicken breast. the ribs fell right off the bone and there was so much meat. and the mashed potatoes under the stuffed chicken were to die for. we went before the dinner crowd and had our choice of seats. it was great.
