Which Restaurant should go?

I know this thread should be at the dining thread. However, this is the only place i can post.

I need to cancel two of my ADR's. I have ADR's for Crystal Palace (D), Sci-Fi (D), Akershus Royal Table (B), Hoop De Do, Chef Mickeys (D), Chef Mickeys (B and planning to pay oop), Coral Reef (d), Ohan's (d), Whispering Canyon (D), and Les Celliar (D).

I am on the DDP and can have 7 TS meals. I am planning to pay for Chef Mickeys (B) out of pocket because this is the cheapest meal of all. I may also pay for one more OOP.

I had a reservation for 50's primetime, but have already cancelled it due to a friend who has been their several times and gave it bad reviews. She said its the luck of the draw with your waiter. I also thought that everyone was seated at a kitchen setting. My friend told me that their were only about 8 of these. Everyone else sits at regular booths. I was not crazy about the food. I just was wanting to go for the atmosphere. Can anyone give me their view of the 50's.

I am also a little unsure of eating at Hoop de and then eating at WCC. It seems the food is about the same. Any suggestions. I really want to do both. I know that you can order off the menu, but the skillet seems to be the best deal. However, i do love BQ.

Also, of the ADR's that i have, which two would you cancel?

I love 50's Primetime!! It is what it is, just be in a mood for comfort/dinner food. The times we have been there, was fun and our servers were great:thumbsup2. You have made ADR's in some great places, so I find it hard to choose which you should cancel. So many places to eat and so little time, I guess that's how they keep us coming back for more :rotfl:. Good luck!

Chef Mickey (D) YUCK!!! (the only thing I could swallow was the Mashed
Potatoes).
The breakfast at CM I'm sure is better--Hard to mess up Breakfast.

Chef Mickeys for dinner is one ADR that I was thinking about canceling.

Hi kandi and :welcome: to the DIS!

Let's start with your registration issue. When did you sign up? You should have received an email with a link you need to click on to confirm your registration so that you can post on all the boards. Often people find this email in their Junk/Spam/Bulk Mail folder so make sure you look there and see if you can find it. If you don't see it then post back here and let me know and we will help you out.

As for your ADR's. You are going to get a wide variety of opinions as everyone has had different experiences and had different food tastes. You didn't tell us about the make up of your travel party. I assume you have children? What are the ages? How many people are going?

Hoop De Doo is going to cost you 2 TS credits if I recall correctly so keep that in mind. But I have heard the show is quite fun. I have wanted to go.

I think I would definitely only do one meal at Chef Mickey's and if I had to choose only one I would go with the breakfast. I have done the dinner twice and the breakfast once and was disappointed with the dinner both times. The food is mediocre. You really are just going for the atmosphere and you get better food at breakfast for less money and the same atmosphere. Maybe better if you kids are young and they will be less tired at that time.

I am also not a fan of Sci Fi, but that is just my opinion. It was just expensive hamburgers when we were there. But if you have people in your party that love SciFi or the drive in experience then you will probably enjoy it.

Are you interested in WCC for the atmosphere or the food? Another choice for bbq is the Trails End at Fort Wilderness. It is reasonably priced and I have read good reviews of it.

Are you going to Askerhaus for the food or to meet the Princesses? You could drop that one and just plan to meet the Princesses in Toon Town and around the parks. Depends on if you have a little princess: in your party or not.

Let us know about who is going on your trip. You have an interesting mix here of "fun and rowdy" meals and then Coral Reef and LeCellier so part of the decision I think definitely depends on your travel members.

Hopefully someone else will give us their opinions. And let me know about the registration email. :)

I (36), DH (40), Dd (10), and Dd (8) will be going to Disney World in March. We will be there from March 8-14. This will be my and DH's third trip and the Dd's second. We last went in 2003. We stayed at ASMu both times. We will stay this time at PoFq. My kids like to eat at places that are loud and fun.

I did get the e-mail. Hopefully, i can post now.

I want to eat at WCC because of the atmosphere.

Thanks for your advice

Soory, I didn't answer all your questions.

I want to eat at least one TS breakfast and the one with the princesses appealed to me the most. We did eat at CRT during our 03 trip.

I really want to eat at Chef Mickeys because of the characters. However, I hated to waste another TS on breakfast. The dinner menu sounded yuck. I thought since this would be the cheapest meal, (CM for Breakfast) I would just pay OOP and not let it count toward my DDP.

Friends have told me that they had a lot of fun and the kids enjoyed WCC. It is not about the food.

The ones that I am thinking about canceling are CM'S (D), Sci-Fi, and possible Crystal Palace (D). I am curious to know what everyone thinks about the dinner at CP.

Did you click the link in the email? The words under your username will change to Earning My Ears when you are fully registered. I want to make sure we get you set up. I will keep checking in here. When I see that you are able to post everywhere I will move this thread to the Dining Board for you so they can also help answer this.

I would definitely drop Chef Mickeys Dinner. I have done Crystal Palace Dinner. I really don't remember it much. I think that means it wan't bad but wasn't great. Sort of typical Buffet food. KWIM? Do your kids love the Pooh Characters? If so then keep that one but they seem a bit old so unless they really have a great adoration for Pooh and the Gang I would probably skip it.

We loved WCC. We also loved 50's Prime Time. Our first time we had a server that wasn't over the top, more sweet than anything, but my girls loved it. The regular tables are really just as good as the countertop spaces. But you are looking to drop meals not add them!

It sounds like you have some great ideas and are making some great choices. :thumbsup2 You will get tons of varying opinions here.

crystal palace was not good in dec 2007. kona was excellant. ppomegranate pork chop was incredible. not another boring chop. bbq in ak at flame tree is great. hope this helps.:thumbsup2

I had to get a new password because i had forgotten mine. I received an e-mail telling me my new password. I had to click on it to see it. I do not remember if I saw Earning My Ears. I have since deleted the e-mail.

Cancel Crystal Palace and Chef Mickey's for dinner, nothing special buffets.

I agree! If it's the characters you were interested in, you can certainly catch them at plenty of other places in the parks.

We did the princess breakfast in Norway - my daughters & I loved it! We've also eaten at Sci-Fi - food was ok; atmosphere was very fun. My daughters are 11 & 13 - they liked it too!

Whatever you do, keep the LeCellier ressie - YUMMY!

Thanks everyone! Crystal Palace and Chef Mickey's are going to have to go. Maybe I can go their next trip.

I am ever so glad to have read this post. I was considering doing the Chef Mickey for DD in Sept. I will definitely scratch that one now.

Thank you!

Chef Mickeys will be a disappointment. Don't miss the best dinner buffet at a resort, BOMA. No soup for you!
