Which restaurant is the loudest?

My family will be on the first Mexican Riviera cruise. My mom and stepdad have a cat 3 room. Since we can request our dining rotation, I was wondering if there is some sort of concensus as to which restaurant is the loudest. I would prefer to limit our dinners in the loudest restaurant to two nights.

Thank you.

I would think Parrot Cay just because it's more laid back and the kids get a bit more rambucous...

Animators is pretty loud...but I wouldn't miss it.

There is no quiet restaurant not like regular up scale restaurants which is what they should be considered on a cruise ship. I just thought last time, August how loud the back ground noise seemed. It didn't bother me, but everyone has to talk louder to be above the chatter and the noise level just keeps going higher. Maybe late seating is better, we had early.

Parrot Cay is certainly loudest (and I thought the coldest, too!). I had a hard time carrying on a conversation with DH during dinner because of the noise level, something that wasn't a problem anywhere else in the rotation.

All of the other restaurants (except Palo, which was half-empty the night we went due to rough seas) were far from quiet, though. There are a lot of people in one big room eating, so there is a certain amount of noise that's expected. I think that the music in Parrot Cay is what kind of puts it over the top, noise-wise.

I didn't notice much noise on our recent 10-night cruise because I was too busy talking myself! LOL But the one night that I did notice noise, it was when we were in Parrot Cay. It's a fun, festive restaurant, so I think it brings out the "chatter" in people. :p

Parrot Cay hands down is the loudest. I always got a headache in there. Late seating is also going to be quieter than early seating because there are more younger kids at early seating.

Parrot Cay also had the Calypso band playing during our dinner.

Tough to conga quietly. And at my age, my joints creak when I limbo.:bounce: :Pinkbounc :yo-yo: :bounce: :Pinkbounc

Actually, it's not just the restaurant, but the rotation. The LAP or generally considered "all adult" rotation is a lot less noisey than the APL which has the youngest kids. I haven't had PLA but would assume it's somewhere in between.

Actually DCl has PAl as the young family crowd, APL as the left over crowd and LAP as the adult crowd. As least per every time I've talked with a DCL agent.

Thank you for your help.

Both my son and mother have very soft voices. Three in our group have trouble hearing with a lot of background noise.

I hadn't even thought of the fact that the rotation would make a difference. It makes a lot of sense. I bet the late seating is quieter as well. We've requested early seating. I bet we'll switch to late and request either APL or LAP.

I would agree with APL being the left over rotation especially the late seating. We have been on Magic twice both times with APL and both times we booked only about 12 weeks before sailing. I did notice, however, that there were quite a few empty tables both times so maybe that would make it a quieter rotation. We had no complaints whatsoever about noise. We also Like APL because it puts you in Lumiere's on both Formal and Semi-formal nights and the atmosphere there is more upscale. I would definitely recommend the APL rotation!!!
