I'm not looking for a salad that is the meal but a side salad. (BTW, I do not like the Cobb salad at BD.) Please describe. I'm hoping some of the restaurants on our "need to try" list have some salads I can look forward to. A great salad can make an otherwise average meal seem great to me. Tell me the salad you always look forward to.:bounce:

I'm a huge salad pain in the rear. :) I can't stand butt-lettuce, hard, white, etc. I've gotten to the point where there's only a couple places I'll eat salad out anymore.

When we had dinner at Cinderella's Castle in December I had Her Majesty's Caesar Salad (even though I'm not a big caesar fan) and it was one of the best salads I've ever had. Super fresh, simple but wonderful.

Flying Fish has a great ceaser salad.

We loved the salad at Cape May because it's a buffet so you can choose what you want. As a matter of fact my husband remarked how good he thought the salads were on our trip last Oct. Also we thought Chef's Mickey buffet salad was good too! Gosh now I'm craving a salad!

Garden Grill has a very nice dinner salad. It comes in a large serve-yourself salad bowl. DW and I did not leave any behind when we ate there last month! Many of the ingredients are grown right there in the Land pavilion.

The salad I had for lunch at the Liberty Tree Tavern on this past trip was OUTSTANDING! I can hardly wait to have it again! It was a main course, not a side salad, but it was so excellent I thought I would still tell you about it. Here's its description from the menu on www.wdwig.com :

Colony Salad - spice-rubbed chicken, Washington apples, sweet pecans and applewood smoked cheddar tossed with field greens in honey shallot vinaigrette $11.79

I agree with Elisabeth - tho colony salad was the best salad I've ever had!:) We're planning on returning to WDW and I'm heading straight for LTT,lol.

Glad to know someone agrees with me, monte. I wouldn't want to be the only "salad fanatic." :teeth:

Allot of the side/dinner salads in WDW restaurants are more of a blend of what I call ecclectic lettuce varieties. One of them looks like ganlia and is bitter. Many of them contain Danylion greens. This is ( I assume) part of the porgram to asist in making the WDW dining scene be more contemporary and upscale. An occaisional salad like this is okay but when you get 3-4 in a row it gets tiring. You can get a salad with iceburg lettuce at the 50's Prime Time Cafe. I did enjoy the salad at Liberty Tree Tavern with the rasberry vinigrette dressing. Pizzafari at the Animal Kingdom had a very simple and good chicken ceaser salad.

My favorite salad is the Buffalo Chicken Salad at the Rainforest Cafe. I don't like too many things in my salad, and this one only has lettuce, carrots, red cabbage, and a yummy crumbly blue cheese on it. The dressing on it is awesome, and the chicken is very tasty (basically it's just chicken fingers with some a little buffalo sauce on it--not too spicy).

pajamommy...

I loved that dressing at Ohana too...

Here is the recipe if you want it, I had it in my files but I think I might have got it from Margie's site ages ago...

'Ohana Honey Lime Dressing

1/2 C honey
1 t dry mustard
1 t salt
1/2 C cider vinegar
1/4 C lime juice
1/4 C diced white onion
1 C canola oil

Place all ingredients except oil in food processor and blend until smooth. Slowly add oil until it is well incorporated into dressing.

stacy6552,

I agree! I think I ate about half the bucket of salad at Hoop Dee Doo! I have no idea why it was so good... it seemed so basic! If anyone has the recipe for this dressing I would love to have it!
