We're doing a quick weekend trip in the fall, and have our itinerary set other than dinner before MNSSHP. We're going to the party on our arrival day. Staying at the Poly.
1) Kona Cafe - been here before, love it. Staying at the Poly so we could have dinner at 5ish, then get ready and go to party.
2) Crystal Palace - been here before and love it. Would be in the park early this way, would have to do buffet in costumes
3) Liberty Tree Tavern - Never tried this before. Would get to see characters in costumes before the party, eliminating maybe some time waiting in line for photos?

So, which would you choose?

This is our first time on the dining plan, we are going to eat at Liberty Tree Tavern at 4:30 on October 1st..

I voted for CP as we didn't like the food at LTT.

I wanted to clear things up a bit. LTT characters wear eye masks or an apron that says Boo or Happy Halloween only; they aren't really in "costumes" like they are in the park for photo ops.

Here is Goofy at LTT with an eye mask:

I voted for Kona since you're already at the Poly. That way, when you get to the park, you can head straight for rides and fun. : )

Kona's is my favorite restaurant. WE did LTT last year before the MNSSHP and were very disappointed. Our family didn't like the food at all, so we were all hunger during the party. The only plus was that once we expressed that we were dissatisfied, they brought us an un-birthday cake and sang. Kids liked that.
