We are going to be in the parks Dec. 12-17 and plan to take an "off" day to relax. I have two daughters ages 4 and 6. We were planning on hitting the various deluxe resorts as recommended by all of you. My question is, where should we eat lunch? My only thought from stuff I read on the boards is Beaches and Cream. But since I don't know much about the resorts (yet!) I'm sure there are other places. It would need to be kid friendly (atmosphere and foodwise) and reasonably priced (by Disney standards ).
The food is very good and you have to see the kitchen sink to believe it! It feeds like 5 people. We saw 4 adults and 1 child in the table next to us eating it. It's an spectacle.
I had a Hot Dog with saurkraut and my DD11 had Mini Burgers and another time a Grilled Cheese. The milkshakes are very good. They have a free jukebox and it's a very fun place. My daughter loves it. If my DD doesn't go to Beaches and Cream for her it's not a real Disney Trip.
I'd have to say that the Floridian, the Wilderness Lodge, the Yacht & Beach Clubs and the Boardwalk are absolute musts!!! If you're on the monorail, I'd take a quick stop over at the Polynesian. I have one of their wreaths as a wallpaper at work and constantly get compliments on it. I'd stop over to the AKL when you visit AK. Their tree and gingerbread design are really nice.
Just about all the delux resorts are worth visiting. If you're tight for time, save the Contoemporary and Poly for last so you can drop them if need be.
Be sure to hit GF, Beach Club, Yacht Club & Boardwalk. Also, WL and AKL are worth a visit.
